I am leaving a poor review because the service not only wasted my time and was unprofessional but also took my money. I walked into the studio asking if they could do mani-pedi and they said if I came back in 30 min they would have time. So I waited around for 30 min and came back and she said that she wouldn't have time to do gel and a pedicure so I had to pick one or the other. I decided to just get a pedicure and manicure. As I sit in the chair, she is being rushed because her next appointments are coming in. She doesn't even put my feet in the water. Doesn't do my cuticles or anything just does a quick snip and file and paints my toes white. She then places me in the nail drying chair to do my hands so that it would be faster for me to sit and dry. She proceeds to do the french tips on my hands and again does none of the things listed under a manicure service. She paints them and places me under and tells me to wait for them to dry.
On top of that, she doesn't have time to do my friends nails at all, and doesn't even inform her of that and just leaves her sitting waiting in the chair. Once I was finished we just left without her getting any service.
The entire time she was pausing in the middle of doing my nails to pick up the phone call for appointments or greet newcomers that she kept forgetting what nail she was on and kept redoing coats.
I simply would have wished she would have told us she didn't have time and we would have gone somewhere else. I was charged for a paint change for both which isn't what I asked for, and if I was just going to get my nails painted I would have painted my nails myself.The final bill came out almost exactly as the amount the mani pedi was supposed to be. I started to dispute it but she stated that she had asked me about it, but she knew that we came for a service and asked me already 10 minutes into filing my nails, was unclear and it confused me. Read moreIt takes a lot for me to get me mad and I've never written a one star review. However, TAO gave very poor quality service today. I walked in with my friend, and we asked if they had space for both of us, since we wanted a mani/pedi. They told us yes, to come back in 25 minutes because they were full. We did what we were told. When we returned, one of the workers took in my friend and told me to sit. More people came in with appointments and it is clear that they were overbooked, but they did not communicate this to us and continued on, as if they were going to do the both of us. One of the workers starts a pedicure for my friend, but sees more people coming in, and stops the pedicure to do color-change. Not once did they communicate to me that they did not have time to do mine as well. At the end we argued that the price should be less and they stated to have told us about the change of service due to booking but this was not true or made explicit enough.
Very rushed and poor service. If they had been straightforward when we asked them initially if they had space for walk in, we would've gone to another place. The manicurists are impolite, and during my most recent visit I spent $140 on a manicure where two of the tips, which were $10 per tip, were crooked. I even tipped $20, which I thought was generous given the quality.
When I went back the next day to kindly ask if they could fix just those two nails they said they wouldn’t replace the tips. I tried to politely explain they didn’t need to waste any time or resources repainting them since the tips were my main concern but they insisted which still didn’t fix the problem.
Today, I tried to book a fill appointment only to discover that my number has been blocked. I even had friends call to confirm, and it turns out the salon blocked me after I asked for a simple fix.
