This is a mixed review primarily because of the sour manager. Overall TAC is a really efficient space for learning textile arts with a warm community of artists. It's a small space but well divided with spaces for different kinds of work, and a range of programming and courses. I found the courses I took useful. However, the main downside is the manager. She jumps to fault finding and negativity in any interaction that is more than 'welcome to class'. This vibe of blaming is the reason I decided to look elsewhere to book studio time - it pervades the studio as an undercurrent. I hope this review provides an opportunity for the staff team to consider the impact of overall tone on engagement. I do understand that in a small studio space with lots of beginners, kids, and artists coming through that things can get nuts and not following rule could easily spiral into chaos - but a welcoming and let's solve things together attitude will go a lot further.

Read moreDisappointed. I had taken several classes in the past but it has been years and I decided to start taking classes again. I was going to sign up for a few but after sending emails which have not been responded to, I won’t be. I don’t like the idea that this how they totally disregard their students who at the end of the day are paying customers.
Edit: their small team responds to public Google reviews within a day but not email inquiries even weeks later and posting they take 3 days…. This is exactly why I posted a review!!!! Thank you for responding to...
Read moreMy 5 year-old went to summer camp here for the first time and is literally over the moon about her time here. I asked her how many stars I should give and she said, "SIX!" From the very first day, I felt like we were walking into a unicorn hug. The staff is so welcoming. They talk to my child like a peer. She's learned to embroider roses and made a "soft sculpture" (aka stuffy) with an accompanying book. She has been pumped with confidence about what she can make with her hands. So cool. We can't wait to sign up...
