Came to the blonde co for a big color correction - my goal was to lighten black box dye which is notoriously difficult to do well. I was also growing out a bad DIY haircut and was a little embarrassed to have to bring the aftermath of it all into a professional salon to get fixed. First of all, Natalie was so gracious and instantly put me at ease about my hair. During the consultation she gave me multiple options for how to go about achieving my goals and laid out the pros and cons of each, and was very straightforward about the cost/time breakdown of each option and what results I could reasonably expect over the course of multiple visits. As a person on a budget, I really appreciated having all the information without feeling awkward discussing the cost. We went ahead with all-over bleaching, and considering I was starting with black hair I hung out there for a while. The vibe at the salon is friendly and relaxed and the space is beautiful. I thought I wanted to leave with my hair as light as possible and that I wanted it very warm, and Natalie achieved that for me. But when I got home I realized that my skin could not handle the orange tones. Before I left the salon, Natalie mentioned if I realized I wasn’t happy and wanted an adjustment in the next week to hit her up, and I decided to take her up on that option. She was able to find a time for me the following week to come back, and she helped me figure out what toning would help bridge the gap till I could come back in for highlights to achieve my ultimate blond goal. After reading a few awesome reviews about The Blonde.co I decided to try them out. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t the awesome service I read about. I barely noticed any difference after my visit and I didn’t feel like my hair was refreshingly colored or cut. After walking out unsatisfied, I noticed my hair gets very tangled even after my first wash and every wash since, even a month after my visit and even after applying many different conditioners. I barely used conditioners before because my hair never needed it. While they were doing my hair I noticed a strong bleach smell, so I’m guessing that is what has damaged the structure of my hair. Natalie, the owner, commented that they’re not responsible for a chemical hair structure. I’m no expert but in my opinion they are responsible for what they’re putting on my hair, right? Especially if they call themselves blonde experts. Natalie did offered me a hair treatment, but after my experience I don’t trust this place anymore. They also used a color toner and after it is washed off my hair I noticed it is very light blond which wasn’t my request because I didn’t want my hair two toned. Now here I am with my roots and ends two different shades. Natalie commented that it’s because of sun (well, I know how my hair use to look under the sun). I emailed the business on a Saturday afternoon to inquire if there was anyway they had an opening with a master stylist before Tuesday as I needed a cut and color before an event on Tuesday. This was my own personal poor planning but the business owner was beyond accommodating, and Master Stylist Cody agreed to come in on his day off and open up the salon just to service me. Our appointment ran a bit long (I had dark brown hair when I walked in and caramel dreams upon my exit!) and Cody was very patient and understanding. The business even allowed me to bring my family dog I was dog-sitting for the day since the salon was technically closed.

The end result was amazing and somehow Cody managed to maintain my hair health (which is amazing when you consider bleach on dark brown hair - like how, wow!).
