When walking into this space, you can sense a welcoming vibe with the couches, colorful shelves and mini fridge full of treats. The shelves are always filled with amazing BIPOC authors or Queens based authors that really represent the community of Jackson Heights. Every book is intentionally selected and stocked by the owner so there’s always a different selection to choose from and always something to buy. The small business room is full of amazing artists that sell stickers, bookmarks, earrings, soaps (like myself), art, tote bags, etc; and the kids room is amazing. My kids always have such a great time on the cozy rug, going over books. He doesn’t even mind if you come just to read a children’s book or two. So far I’ve only been able to attend one event but it was amazing. He went out of his way to make sure there was coffee and snacks for everyone to enjoy from another local business. Love...

Update (4/25/24)- Since my original post, owner did reach out to try to amend this situation. It was much appreciated and I had hoped we would move forward.

Unfortunately, I've been ghosted once again since Oct 2023 and we are approaching May 2024.

I first came across this bookstore via tik-tok in 2022. Excited that it was Latinx run, I wanted to support and purchased Mystery Box Tier-3 in late August 2022. Unfortunately, to this day (Oct 2023), I have yet received my purchase. I have attempted, in good faith, contacting the owner various times throughout the year. My attempts have not been acknowledged and my book box has never been sent out to me.

As much as I wanted to support this bookstore, my hard-earned money was accepted and I have not been acknowledged about my purchase for more...

I was very unsatisfied with the service this bookstore provides, so far this is the only bookstore I’ve noticed who doesn’t have a telephone number to call. They didn’t get back to me either through email or Instagram. They kept my money for this book I ordered and I never received the book! I gave them the benefit of the doubt so I waited a few weeks for nothing, I was able to get a refund from my bank at the very least! My book was also supposed to be signed by the author as it was from an event, this is just a warning for authors to think first before working with this vendor. I did reach out to the host but was told to contact the vendor and nothing. I do identify as a person of color by the way and the only reason I didn’t bother to go in-person is because I live far from...

This is such a great book store, an amazing addition to the neighborhood! I visited the first week they opened and was so happy that I did. The owner Adrian is so sweet! The children’s room is so unique and my four year old had a fun time picking out a book. I was so happy to see how sold out of books they were for being open just a few days. I follow the instagram and know that they are busy with events and keep everything fully stocked. This store’s main goal is lifting up the BIPOC community and my children are also Ecuadorian like Adrian and we are always ready and beyond happy to support Ecuadorian owned businesses!

The owner is very nice. Not only he sells books. He also sells merchandise that are locally made, like art, stickers, and much more. He gave my daughter a balloon when she was being a bit fussy (as how toddlers there are sometimes lol). I was able to find the stickers that I was going to get online eventually, but I saw that he also sells them. I got some bath salts, and I got a book for my daughter and my husband managed to find a book for himself. I highly recommend this bookshop, there is also food that is also locally made that he also sells.
