I’ve been trying for years to get a good haircut that I can just wash and go. I have pretty curly hair and my experience has been that the first cut at a place is good but then not so much after that. Javier was a genius and cut my hair quickly and beautifully. I wanted to wait a few days before the “honeymoon period” was over to see if the cut held and it has. I don’t like to fuss with my hair. Also I spend a lot of time in the water or out in humidity. I’m on a cruise now and I’m so happy. I can get out of the pool or the shower, put a little product in and go. And it looks great all day. Elena was so nice and competent and gave me a great shampoo. And advice on how to care for my hair (don’t touch it too much while it’s drying naturally.) All in all a wonderful experience and I will certainly go back and would recommend to everyone. My husband is delighted. He knows my frustration with big curly, frizzy hair and he’s happy...

Awful experience! I went for a haircut (for the 2nd time in that salon) and I showed them 2 of my pictures explaining what I wanted. I asked Javier to get the back of my hair ( back neck area) very short. When they asked me if I wanted them to cut my hair on the sides I said yes ( trusted them to do a good job) and I did not pay attention that they were going to shave the sides so they went ahead and shaved my whole hair. I never asked for that kind of haircut and I clearly showed them pictures of what I wanted. The first time around they did a good job but this second time they did something horrendous.

Javier was angry when I told them that I did not ask to shave my whole hair and did not apologize at all.

My current haircut gives me anxiety and I am currently taking pills to grow my hair. I will avoid this place at all costs as they don't pay attention and don't care about their customers and what they want...

I went to Theater Hair Salon for the first time 3 October and it was a wonderful experience. I am very selective with hair professionals and was super impressed by Javier’s attention, knowledge, and service. I have been getting my hair cut and colored at a well-known NYC salon for over 15 years and was apprehensive about trying someone new, but Javier was highly recommended by a colleague. I took a chance and I have no regrets! Javier knew exactly what I wanted without me having to say much. He really understood me and my hair needs. This is now the salon I will go to for all my hair needs, including products.
