I remember back in the early 80's, that park was known as Rock Steady park because of a famous breaking crew that practiced there. A few members of that crew lived next and around that park. Plus, the handball court walls were decorated with the most beautiful graffiti murals. In the early 90's, they started having reunion anniversaries there called the Rock Steady Crew anniversary. They stopped having it there in the mid 90's because those anniversaries became so popular that the crowd capacity outgrew the venue and then the community board made a big stink about it, even though it was a once a year event. Read moreMy kids love this playground and there are recreational areas for adults too. During the school year it is closed during school hours. Great for after school or summer. My only complaint is that due to the layout it can be hard to keep your eye on your kids if you have more than one, one often runs out of sight briefly which is nerve-wracking when they are little. Other playgrounds that are smaller or round it is easier to see your kids...
