If there were a Nobel Prize for hospitality, Jennifer at Holy Schnitzel on Amsterdam Avenue would win it hands down.
From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, Jennifer radiated the kind of warmth and positivity that could brighten even the gloomiest New York day. She didn’t just take my order — she made me feel like a VIP at a five-star kosher palace. Her energy? Immaculate. Her smile? Blinding in the best way. Her menu knowledge? Encyclopedic.
I had about a thousand indecisive questions and not once did she waver. She guided me through sauces and schnitzel types like a seasoned tour guide leading someone through the Holy Land itself. She offered recommendations with the enthusiasm of someone who clearly cares about the food and the people she serves. And the best part? She made the whole experience FUN. Like, I left Holy Schnitzel in a better mood than when I arrived, and that was 90% Jennifer and 10% the french fries.
If you’re lucky enough to be greeted by Jennifer, just know you’re in for world-class service with a side of genuine joy. Holy Schnitzel is blessed to have her. And frankly? So is New York.

Read moreThe upside...clean, spacious, and unique concept. The downside...personalized service was lacking in a way that really felt cold and off-putting. I am not a casual reviewer and I try to see the best in everyone...my love for independently run establishments drives my desire to do these reviews and to land in top 10% of NYC Google reviewers. The man behind the counter couldn't muster the energy to meet my smile with even a hello. My questions were met with such a lack of response and caring that it was downright deflating. I ordered and again asked a simple clarifying questions and he just pointed me to a screen with no assistance. Food was good and I would give it another try, but even after giving a big Thank You when I left hoping maybe I would get some reaction or smile...it was like fireworks during a downpour and deluge. I don't quite get it...but I know what I must give...

Me: don’t use those companies.
Manager: it’s probably best you pick the food up yourself if you want to make sure it’s hot.
Me: wrong answer! everyone in New York has figured out how to deliver hot food.
Manager: I let the owner know.
Me: How does that ensure I get hot food next time.
Manager: I dont know what to tell you.
Me: 1. Sorry sir. You’re absolutely right to expect hot food. I’ll make sure we look into that. In the meantime here’s $10 off your next order. Please let me know if you’re food isn’t hot next time. My name is …
Manager: silence.
Summary: Good food. Probably best to wait till summer to order from them if you like...
