I don’t write reviews at all, but I think I have to for this one. Please, if you’re a male, do not come here. I told Owen what I wanted and I wanted to keep the length because I’ve been growing out my hair and I showed him reference photos of what I wanted. He quickly brushed my concerns off, but the store had no one but one other person at the moment. My hair is now NOTHING like what I wanted and the haircut made my hair so damaged, choppy, and uneven. Owen had no respect for my hair and cut it so uneven and was aggressively flinging it all over the place. I was reading all the great reviews here so I gave this place a shot, but I guess they weren’t true. I hate how my hair looks now because of this salon so I’m telling you guys, please save your money, time, and hair by choosing somewhere else
Edit: The salon has mistaken me for someone else. When I first entered the salon, they told me I'd get a hair wash first and I was fine with that. Also, my hair was at max, neck length. Also, I never asked Owen to cut my hair twice. This was literally my first time there. I also never asked for the hair to be cut shorter and I clearly told him before he started cutting my hair that I wanted to keep the length of my hair. However he said, he would have to cut "a little bit". And I was fine with that because I trusted what he was doing. I do not appreciate the way that the salon is spreading fake information online, but perhaps they are mixing up their customers. Either way, this has been a bad experience for me at the salon and hopefully they can...
Read moreI can not attest to their other services but I would avoid this place if you’re looking for a men’s haircut. I usually do not write reviews, let alone bad ones, but I felt like the high ratings can be misleading. Prior to the haircut, I had grown my hair out for 3 months. I had planned on getting a perm in the near future, and came in asking for a maintenance cut. I asked for a Korean two block haircut and showed Owen a picture. I explained the situation to him in Chinese, but it seems like either the instructions were not understood or just disregarded because before I knew it, he started cutting an inch off the fringe of my hair. I was shocked and immediately told him that I wanted to leave the top longer. He said he understood and continued to cut. Typically with other barbers/hairstylists, they use clips to section off the top of the hair for a two block haircut, but Owen did not use any clips. He just used clippers and thinning shears to cut the top of my hair. Before I knew it, 3 months of hair I had grown out was gone. And despite using the thinning shears throughout the entire haircut, my hair was still flat and uneven. The end result was mediocre at best and definitely not what I wanted. Sadly, I will be going into my graduation ceremony looking like a bootleg Park Saeroyi.
Edit: Their reply suggested that I didn’t get my hair washed there, but I did. Also I don’t get how much of it can be fixed if the hair is already gone? The sides were shaved too high up so the only thing to do now is wait...
Read moreI'm a guy searching for a barber in Queens/Long Island who can keep a man's hair long and simply trim the ends without shearing his locks off. Prior to this haircut I had grown my hair out for 2-3 months and I was really liking it. I'm very wary of barbers these days after some other poor experiences but after a while I had to concede that I was in desperate need of a clean-up.
I picked this spot because it was local and had great ratings, and in a number of ways it did deliver. The woman at the front desk (the owner, or owner's wife maybe?) was SUCH a delight; she was so kind and courteous and even complimented my long wavy hair (as it was before the haircut). The lady who washed my hair was also really nice!
So then they sat me down for the haircut, and Owen was my hair-cutter. He was nice enough, and I told him I had heard great things about his cuts from online reviews. I showed him multiple photos of guys with long, flowing wavy hair down to their ears, and I tried to tell him that I only wanted a scissor trim focused on my sideburns and the nape of my neck... and two minutes into the haircut I realized that he had already cut it way shorter than I had wanted. So I basically ended up with just a slightly longer version of the same haircut that all barbers do around here.
It's not a bad salon, and the staff are seriously so nice, but I can't pretend I'm not disappointed in my haircut. My search for the right hair stylist for...
