I come here lots of times to go walk my dog, which is how I stumbled on to this park in the first place. It's a good park to spend your afternoon with a beautiful lake and a half mile loop around it. There's a good amount of people all the times I went, but during the mornings and late afternoons the park is pretty barren. It's a great place to take a walk, walk your dog, or jog. The trees block out the outside buildings and the path is far enough from the roads that you can't hear the traffic. You can just hear the sound of the birds and the bugs. It's nice to be able to have a bit of an escape from life and just have a brief moment with nature. I'll never forget the first time coming here, not even realizing that a park was so close to my home. Wandering aimlessly, I was in shock when I found this park and in awe for what it had to offer when I went around the path. I saw the sun's glare from the lake's surface. I watched a dog fight a goose by the lakeside. After that I knew I would have to come back. Without a doubt I would highly recommend you come to...
Read moreOakland Lake is an incredible place to unwind and connect with nature. The scenic views are breathtaking, especially at sunset, when the sky reflects beautifully on the water. Walking along the trails feels peaceful and refreshing, and there’s plenty to explore around the lake.
One of the highlights here is the chance to feed the ducks – a fun activity, especially if you’re visiting with family. The lake also offers some great fishing spots, where you can relax by the water and enjoy the surroundings. Whether you’re there for a walk, to fish, or simply to watch the sunset, Oakland Lake provides a fantastic escape from the city’s hustle. Highly recommend for nature enthusiasts and...
Read moreThis park used to be more rustic and had some flood areas but not any more now. They have repaired and built paved walking trails. Also they put up a few new benches for those need to rest in between, although it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to finish the loop trail. There are always birds, ducks, goose and sometimes swams. There is a sign asking people Do NOT feed the goose (any kind of birds..) but some people just ignore and still feed them 😣 Today also saw a dad biked on the trail with a little girl sitting in the front, even though bike is NOT allowed here 😤 It would be more enjoyable if people follow the rules so everyone can...
