I went there to buy a smart watch and they wouldn't give me the watch . They wanted me to pay a down payment. I didn't get paid yet. They told me I would have to pay another bill and then my credit would go up but I pay all my bills on time..AS PER OWNER OF THE VERIZON STORE ON STEINWAY STREET IN ASTORIA HE TOLD ME IF I WOULD PAY MY BIĹL THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THE WATCH. WHEN I WENT TO THE VERIZON STORE ON VERIZON STORE AND INQUIRED ABOUT WHAT THE OWNER OF THAT STORE THEY STILL WOULDN'T HONNOR WHAT THE OWNER OF THE VERIZON STORE ON STEINWAY STREET. I tried to do the line transfer myself at home and a message popped up stating that the SIM card was not supported and that I needed to reach out to Verizon. I thought, oh well I have to trade my old phone in anyways so letās just take it to the Verizon store down the street. Big mistake, huge. I get there and explain what happened and they proceed to disregard what I said and spent an hour trying to update my phone because that was apparently the issue in their eyes. I ask them why they canāt just manually transfer the line and they tell me they canāt do that because their system was having an issue. After it was updated, what do you know, same message pops up about the SIM card. The rep is confused. Only now does he ask me what kind of phone I have and then says ohhhh well yeah itās an older phone so that makes sense. š¤ then we spent another hour on hold with Verizon AT VERIZON for someone to manually change the line for me. Something that should have been done the second I walked in but no, they didnāt want to listen to me when I told them the initial error message. After the line is transferred, I had picked out a new case while I was waiting and he was in the process of charging me for it. And then he tells me he canāt sell it to me because itās not in their systemā¦. How can that even be the case when it was on the floor to begin with? I went to this store to pick up a new phone that I had already paid for online. Verizon customer service had confirmed that I could pick up the phone with my ID and credit card I used to purchase. When I arrived Randy told me there was no way anyone but the account holder could pick up the phone, and when I had told them the account holder couldnt do that because he was out of the country he said I would need to cancel the order and re-order for delivery.
I left the store and went back after realizing that I had no problem doing this in the past and asked if they could call the account holder and Randy tried to tell me someone outside the country couldnt be called and that they couldnt call Verizons support number from outside the country either. VERIZON employees should be aware that phone calls work outside the country, but Randy insisted there was no way to make this work.
I had to go home, call the account holder and have him contact customer support to add me as authorized and then go back to the store to pick it up. The only reason I had to go home was to use my computer to make calls, because the store was so unhelpful that they couldnt offer me any assistant with contacting someone while I didnt...
