The Red District — Restaurant in New York

SO MUCH FALSE ADVERTISING!! My friends and I went there last night (Saturday 5/18) to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We got there around 10:30pm. As soon as we walked up, the security outside immediately said “there isn’t really anything going on right now so I think you should leave and come back later” he told us the music would start around 11:30pm. My friends and I were going for some music, sure, but mainly for their food and cocktails, but we were put off by him basically turn us away and asked where we should go. He gave some recommendations (🚩generally just terrible business to literally turn people away and send them somewhere else) and we ate at one spot and spent time getting drinks at a different spot to kill time. 🚩By the time we got back to Red District, it was close to 1am. Their Instagram says no cover, but we got in through the door and each had to pay $10 to get in. 🚩The stairs leading upstairs looks like all the pics they’ve posted, but once we got upstairs to the bar, it looked absolutely nothing like the place they post online. It was smaller. There were none of the cool neon signs anywhere. The wall decorations re COMPLETELY different. There aren’t even the TV’s around the room that you see. 🚩We looked past that because we were excited for their cocktail. However, we got to the bar, asked for the menu, and was told “we don’t do cocktails. The most I can do is a Margarita and simple mixed drinks”. What??? Most of your posts are about the creative cocktails! The three of us literally went on Google to search and make sure we didn’t somehow end up at the wrong spot or to see if they have various locations. This is indeed the only location and we felt completely punked. At this point, idk where the actual Red District is, because where we went shares the same address, but sure as hell isn’t the place they advertise...

Ive been in this industry for over 20 years. Ive got to say this has been the worse experience I've ever endured. They try seating us in area that did not accomdate a party of 15. I had to literally kick into work mode, and start assisting with our seating cause the staff was clearly lost. After taking my advice about the seating. Our server did not speak English, while taking our orders. Half of our table only spoke English. Server left our drinks sitting for 11 plus minutes at the bar . We literally sat there and counted the minutes.Working in the hospitality business, I was very unsatisfied as half of my party was of 15 guest. The server told my friend that her nachos had no meat. Which had meat and she was vegan. She waited an hour for nachos with NO MEAT! Our La Diablo drinks were absolutely the worst. No liqour made of mostly puree. We requested separate bills server stated she didn't know how to do so. Although I offered to assist, she declined and forced us to figure it out amongst eachother. My husband and I had to walk to the bar and serve ourselves on 4 separate occasions. Because the server kept walking past our drinks. Chicken was awful, the breading was thick and gewwy. Drinks were awful, service was awful. Worse experience ever. My husband even made the statement "its sad that you're literally working and helping the server" instead of enjoying the experience. Honestly I've opened several restaurants and this restaurant is in need of immediate HELP ! IF YOU NEED HELP PLEASE REACH OUT. I was having a great time until they escorted me out with my women i don’t understand people directly with no communication i never been to a place where i spend hundreds of dollars just to sit and drink usually we dance and laugh this place truly needs better people working here and security instead of the toxic environment talking about we have to leave for us having a great time , i don’t appreciate the brutality and the negative down talk instead of opening up pulling us to the side explaining things clearly and properly the security guard lady literally attacked my lady for her speaking up for herself after we was there for only 1 hour just imagine what went through my mental hurts writing this big paragraph after all i went through watching my wife lay on the ground like a pancake for nothing wrong we not even the type of people to do any harm to anybody crazy thing is security started holding me after all i did was talk about the situation and act according to whats going on he got the nerves to say chill man thats a lady i didn’t even touch nobody my physical body means everything to me i don’t appreciate security dude holding me back from speaking to my women i suggest you remove that security team because life is not about violence its about peace and love . Communication is key not violence especially who you dealing...
