Pro tip. They probably don't read there Google reviews On the receipt there is a survey code everyone please start doing the surveys if you leave a bad response it will ask If you want to be contacted. That's probably the only way we're going to get them to change anything. This pharmacy department is one of the worst in Bushwick. Unfortunately for a lot of us if you have to go to the emergency room or you have to go to urgent care and it's after 5:00 p.m. Most of the smaller pharmacies are closed. And if you live close to the area and are not able to easily travel, this is where you're going to be forced to go. So it's not that easy for a lot of people to just go to another pharmacy. The pharmacy department has no direction. They seem like they're dealing with a lot of bad handoffs between shifts. There's no communication. They don't seem to pay attention to their automated system prompts. There is a lack of communication. There's a lack of knowledge and there's a lack of accountability and quality Care that shows heavily in many of these reviews. Anyone who has The misfortune of having to stand on that long line only to get up to the pharmacy counter to have people standing directly on top of you while you're giving them important information for them to not even be paying attention to the information you're giving them and have to ask you six more times, Or to have wrong information in their system, doesn't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out something. Is gravely wrong with this pharmacy team. We are watching in real time your entire pharmacy department of this particular location. Quiet quick. The entire pharmacy team is going to wind up killing somebody due to their lack of confidence I don't say this lightly. I've worked in retail. I know it can get busy. I know things can be overlooked, however I have never seen a pharmacy run this badly and your Pharmacists Who are like the head chef in a restaurant need to be held...

12:30 PM: This Walgreens is the closest pharmacy to me that offers easy medication pickup. That said, this location gets a one-star review because medication pickup is anything but easy.
Whether or not you have a prescription submitted and filled in advance, expect to wait--a WHILE. The pharmacy line at Walgreen's is never less than half a dozen people deep, with waits of half an hour or more at times. And if you're notified that your medication is ready for pickup, don't expect them to keep your scripts bottled for the week-long grace period they promise. So, you're required to come back...and wait...AGAIN.
Beyond the pharmacy, the store is okay--dingier and more barren than other Walgreens locations, but serviceable. Of course, that pales in comparison to the nightmare you can anticipate should you need to pick up necessary medication.
12:35 PM: I was waiting in line while writing the review, and I'm still waiting. It's been more than half an hour so far. This location should be shut down, with prescriptions being forwarded to other pharmacies that know how to operate.
12:50 PM: still in line - fifty minutes now. I just saw a cockroach crawl by, which I stomped on. If I'm here for an hour, at least I should get paid for bug control work.
1:04 PM: after one hour and four minutes, I'm finally out the door. Once my eyes adjusted to the light, I couldn't help but wonder: how has the world changed while I was engaged in what must have been the waiting room for purgatory? Do people still have their funny little ways?
Conclusion: After being granted such a generous stretch of time to think and reflect, I could only draw one overwhelming conclusion: if anything, this pharmacy must be proof that...
Read moreShort-staffed, painfully slow lines at peak times. But very nice employees, and good prices if you get the discount.
The line at the registers is often 5-10 minutes long, and there's usually nobody in the aisles who you can ask for help. In other words, this place is usually short-staffed, and it's especially frustrating during peak times.
That said, I've spoken to the people at the registers when I needed help, and they're typically really, really nice. Especially the lady with the curly hair, who probably ought to be a manager if she's not already, and the young girl who sometimes works with her. Same with the pharmacy -- one time I was that guy with so many questions (sorry!), and they took the time to thoroughly help me out.
As for the lady on the chair that another reviewer mentioned, she's pregnant. That's probably why she's allowed to use a chair, which never happens otherwise, and that's probably why she asked if you could move your stuff towards her. I guess she should have said "sorry I can't get up", but then you noted that she seemed apologetic afterwards. I had a similar experience to yours where she seemed kinda rude at first but then she was nice.
As for being pricy, they can be, but if you go there often enough, you can qualify for an automatic 10%-20% off everything, at which point they become the cheapest store in the neighborhood for most things. (Except 20oz drinks, which are still overpriced.)
Because the staff is so nice, and the prices are great with the discount, but senior management keeps them...
