Westside Market NYC — Local services in New York

Westside Market is a great grocery store option that is conveniently located on the corner of 3rd Ave and 17th Street.

As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with fully stacked aisles of ready-to-eat food. If you keep walking towards the back, you will see other prepared food options, such as the warm food buffet. The lovely ladies in the back helped me to a serving of fresh chipotle salmon, creamy linguini, and a side of steamed broccoli. I took advantage of the special and the total came out to be ~$20. It was a huge heaping of food, so much so, that I was able to eat some for lunch and the rest for dinner.

It’s such a great place. You can find anything you may need here, always nice and clean. Food is amazing but what is so disappointing is the customer service, and the manager is very rude to his employees, it’s a shame that I couldn’t pick his name but he’s Hispanic and nothing to do with his race. But if you are this rude with your employees in front of customers I don’t want to know how is it when nobody is around. This creates a very uncomfortable ambience because employees look kind of rude too, I can’t blame them. Miserable manager creates miserable employees. I’m not one to write reviews but I must say I am tired of spending money at this location on expensive produce that goes bad almost instantly. Their expiration dates are way out of whack, and their fresh foods are simply not fresh. I see items on the shelves that have an expiration date of literally the next day or only a few days later or items which have expiration dates much further out than they should be. I just brought home cheese which tasted funny and I looked at the expiration and it said MAY 2022. It’s almost September. That’s just inexcusable!!!!
