Williamsburg Beauty Spa — Local services in New York

Would not recommend unless you want to be stuck on a table listening to an hour long lecture poo-pooing everything you believe in (dermatologists, retinol, whatever skincare you're using, etc). The service kicked off with Amanda not introducing herself at all (I had to ask for her name later), and calling me "uneducated" because I recently had microneedling done and didn't know the name of the pen that was used off the top of my head. This place clearly wanted to drag and trash any other business - "everything we have is top of the range here." Super arrogant and ultimately unable to read the room and make a client feel comfortable. I left feeling stressed and in a terrible mood - not how I expected to walk out of a "spa." The kicker was when the business owner performing the service asked me to tip 20%, when they should be setting their prices accordingly. I felt I had no choice but to tip but reflecting on the experience, it's more important for me to warn others than to request a refund. Will never be back.

UPDATE: I’m not surprised to see the business finally responded to my review in the same defensive and unprofessional tone I received during my treatment. It’s worth mentioning they wrote to me as soon as I posted this review to offer an “apology” - that took zero accountability and quickly devolved into the same lecturing and ranting you see below. They also offered future treatments in exchange for me taking down the review, which is interesting since their response below claims I was “blocked as a client the moment I stepped out the door.” 

Not only is it an abject lie that I have “threatened to sue” any other practitioners, the fact they are exposing the sensitive medical history I discussed with them during my treatment is a total violation of my privacy.

So yes, people do need to be warned about this place. They are rude, argumentative, defensive, tactless and will share your medical history if you dare to leave an honest review describing your disappointment in the...
