I've been to almost every club in Brooklyn for the past 25 years and this is the worst experience I've ever had in my life, from the line to get in, to all of the staff inside, they're racist, judgmental and hateful, if you know how to really dance to house music, then this spot is not for you. I got harassed by the bouncers to stop dancing the way I was, everytime a did a move, even away from everyone, not being a danger at all or touching anyone! Meanwhile everyone on the dance floor was giving me hand shakes and props, I even got more people to dance!! They just want you to stand around and barely dance, why even have a dance/club room!? I wasn't even break dancing, God forbid someone did that! I'm well known in several clubs throughout the city and brooklyn, they all love me and encourage me to come! This place was new so wanted to see what's up! Hard fail!!! They harassed and finally man handled me kicking me out! For dancing!? I was straight on point and did absolutely nothing wrong! I even told a few friends and people on the dance floor that they were harassing me, they said why!? You're really cool! People were dancing with me and loving me! I even got texts right after asking me what happened, you really got kicked out? And that this place was a joke! I was just having fun like I usual do, nothing out of the ordinary for me, never ever do I get messed up or drunk! I'm just a good dancer! I also asked literally 10 times why I was getting kicked out to every worker, with no response, I asked for the manager, and refused to leave, they finally got him, they said here's the manager, I asked him can I please speak with you man to man as to why this is happening? Then they all surrounded me grabbing and pushing me out through the exit! They were hating that I was standing out and the crowd was paying attention to me, this place is not part of the house and dance culture, it disrespects it! like several said, it's a joke!! the heavy set Hispanic bouncer even told me to F my mother! I never got humiliated and disrespected in any place like this my whole life! It's like the manager told his goons to get me out because I'm too cool for his Wack spot, I wish I never spent a dime in this place! It's a judgmental, racist, dungeon, someone ran up to me and asked me where I was from too, maybe the owner slash managers friends were in the crowd, hating on my background, has to be a combo of stuff to do this to a nice guy like me! I was even trying to be so cool to the staff even after they said anything to me. I would never recommend this place!! There are too many other amazing places to go in Brooklyn than this wannabe club, even the guy behind the bar...
Read moreI went to check out Unveiled last night, the new club beneath the William Vale hotel. I had some preconceived expectations about the crowd, some of which were spot-on, but surprisingly it was a lot of fun!
I RSVP'd for free entry through their website. There was no line at the door when I arrived around 10:45pm, security was polite and professional... didnt search me. The main bar area is basically a lounge, with lots of couch seating and tables. There were a couple very fashionable gogo dancer ladies throughout the night. The DJ is in the back right corner and there is no dancefloor except the walkway between the booth and the couches. When I arrived it was about 80% dudes (mostly 20-somethings) and everybody was sitting down or talking. Only me and 2 other people were on our feet and dancing until around 11:30pm, when more people got up and started moving. The warmup DJs were really great. The room became crowded and the main dancefloor room wasnt opened until the main act (Unders) came on at midnight. Well whiskey & coke was $20 + tip. Bartenders were friendly and efficient.
The dancefloor is fairly large by Williamsburg standards, well-ventilated and great sound. I was surprised how into the music the crowd was, most people were dancing and only a few phones recorded the first couple minutes of the DJ, then they put their phones away. LOTS of yappers though, the conversation overpowered the music at times.
In my 15 year clubbing experience, I had a first: some drunk miserable young 20-something wearing a grey buttondown shirt and denim jacket said to me, "You look stupid." That is all. Tbh I think I was looking stylish in a unique outfit and fresh af (after having received several compliments on it). I laughed in his face because frankly I do not care what people like him think and was not offended, but he did have a lot of gall to say that, and to be the first asshole to ever do so.
Bathrooms were clean, with 6 or 7 private stalls and a nice attendant. Coat check line was long during peak hours, but when I arrived and left, there was only 1 person ahead of me.
All-in-all I had a great time and left around 2:15am to party-hop. I think I would come again for a DJ I really wanted to see....
Read moreAs someone who’s always chasing great food, music, and art—and who’s been lucky enough to experience some of the best venues in this city—I can confidently say Unveiled completely took me by surprise. It’s rare to find a place in NYC nightlife that feels new, thoughtful, and high quality all at once. But this spot? It’s a whole different level. The moment I arrived, I could feel the difference. The textures, the layout, the lighting—it’s all done with taste and intention. I made the trip to Brooklyn just to check it out and it was totally worth it. Everyone was warm and welcoming from the start. I stopped by the bar and even though I usually avoid club cocktails because they’re always too sweet or just not it, I tried one that looked like a cucumber martini with an olive. Random combo, but honestly, it blew my mind. Zero sugar, super fresh, clean, and unexpectedly perfect. I came a little early to avoid the line because word is it gets packed fast and we hung out in this gorgeous lounge space, chatting and sipping drinks while dancers in reflective outfits floated through the crowd. The space itself had these mirrored and marble details that added to the vibe in such a subtle, cool way. When we finally went into the main room, I was honestly shocked. The sound system was next level and the lighting—finally, a place that gets the importance of light in a party. It wasn’t just a backdrop, it was part of the show. They had rotating lights, layered visuals behind the DJ, and an energy that just pulled you in. The VIP area looked like something out of a modern Studio 54 and the entire crowd was on fire. The music just kept building, every DJ came in with a different flavor and somehow it kept getting better. We stayed all night, dancing, laughing, and just vibing with the room. It’s been a while since I felt that kind of energy in a club where every detail feels intentional and everything just flows. Unveiled reminded me exactly why I fall in love with this city over...
