Yoon's Fish Market — Local services in New York

I came in to get fresh water salmon for my Sunday dinner I saw that there was some on sale, and it was already bagged up first red flag .I never shop alone but my mom was coming home soon from church and I wanted to cook dinner for both of us . I asked how many salmon was in the bag and the Korean man told me it's all bagged up already he can't tell me second red flag..I paied $9.00 and went home ..even tho it was cheap price i was happy . i didnt have much money but i got what i wanted thats what i thought...when I got home I open the bag and my kitchen started smelling like rotting fish. I wanted to throw up that's how bad it smelled.it was like some soapy sour smell fish gives off if its not fresh.. it was also cut up with hardly any meat on some peaces. my mom finally came home and she told me thst it wasent good and he also gave me scrapes, that's why it was so cheap. I dont go food shopping alone i didnt know much about buying fish so i was very disappointing with myself. I went back to the fish market and I show the same man who sold me the bad salmon and he was very nasty and aggressive about it. he told me that It was no refund because i open the bag and because of the sour smell coming from it... he also tried to accuse me of puting something on the fish. he spoke korean to his female partner.. i told him I didn't put anything on the fish it smelled like this when i opened up the bag and i showed him.. he took my receipt but still refused my refund. I asked to receive another peace of salmon or a differnt fish atleast for the same price he spoke to his partner in koren and she say no refund you buy you take and leave pointing to the door..I was very upset so i called the cops ...while I was on the phone the man started yelling in koren to his partner and aggressively puting ice on all the fish. I waited outside in the front on the phone with my mom and waiting for the cops to show up..10 min later the korean lady came out and she tried to bargen with me.. she said that she can't give me my money back but she can give me differnt fish she held up fresh talepia for same same price. I ask why not another salmon .she explained it would be more money. I didn't wanna argue the police was taking forever to show up it was very hot i was tired and hungry ..i accepted it even tho it wasent what I wanted .i didnt even want the fish anymore but i already paied for it was also so very embarrassing. I never spoke to the police and i'm never buying my fish from there again very terrible...

You SHOULD NOT patronize this store. They are rude with no customer service skills. The lady was so upset that my order of shrimp came to less than $2 she didnt want to give me a bag and when i requested one kept telling me the price then said she wasnt gonna sell to me. Save your money they are too expensive anyway. Thursday to Sunday they spike up the prices.There is a better fish market up the block near creston ave and 2 better ones on...

Rude service. Need diversity training, especially, when a establishment like this takes from the community and puts nothing back in. NYC needs more black owned establishments since places like this have issues with black people but want our green money! If, I could give one star I would. Not shopping...
