Z&H Five Star Nail Salon — Local services in New York

I was a loyal customer here. I would go and get the works, gel pedicure, acrylic nails with designs, fill ins… all of it. I spent a lot of money in this shop. The work was pretty decent. The last two times I visited ruined everything. I made an appointment and when I arrived I couldn’t be seen because they over booked and someone was in my spot. I was understanding about that time, things happen. I went back, dealt with a little attitude, but my nails came out nice. Well, I went back today to get my nails done, and they literally talked in their language all over my head without addressing me. They were aware that I couldn’t understand. They didn't ask what I wanted, how can we help, nothing! Finally I sai,. “So um I would like a fill”. One of the ladies then said “oh she can’t get to you today she’s busy”. I told them “ It’s ok that she can’t get to me, but I’m a loyal customer. You shouldn’t just let me stand here this long looking around wondering what’s happening. Open your mouth and communicate with me.” Now I gave them a pass the first time. Never again. They will never get another one of my dollars. I told them I’ll never be back and I mean it. Terrible manners and...

I normally don’t write bad reviews but, this place really isn’t great. I seriously did not enjoy one minute of being there.

First of all, I went in to get my nails taken off and had to wait which was fine at first... but, then they had me sit at an empty station to soak my nails for well over a half hour. (After I waited for forever) Because of the sloppy way she decided to take my nails off I was forced to get a gel manicure which she then rushed to do! Was rude about me paying before she did the work, and was so rough during the entire manicure. Eventually I had to tell her to ease up on her grip.

Some of my nails are square right now and some are rounded but I had to get out of there.

Needless to say I won’t be back. I am dying to find a nail salon that you actually feel pampered at in NYC so if anyone has any suggestions please...

I don’t usually write reviews, but this one’s coming from the heart! I just moved to the neighborhood and was nervous about finding a good nail salon (had some not-so-great experiences before), but this place completely changed my mind. Katy is amazing! She was super welcoming and helped me choose a design—even though I can be pretty indecisive 😅. She was so patient and checked in multiple times to make sure I was happy with the length, shape, color, and design. That kind of customer care is rare these days, and I really appreciated it. All the staff were super friendly and made me feel comfortable. This is definitely my new go-to nail spot! Great job,...
