Honestly I can only review the food since I order from Uber Eats. I don't write that many reviews for restaurants or anything because who has the time. But this was so bad I had to say something for everyone else and for the owner/s to take action. First and foremost the Griot Taco I ordered, idk if I should blame the delivery guy or the restaurant but whatever box you are using and however you do food management and placement is not working. The contents (the griyo lettuce and ranch sauce were everywhere in the box except the taco soft shell. It was a disgusting site to see and especially after spending over 50$ for food, that was heartbreaking. Could not even eat unless I was very desperate. I can't talk about the taste since I didn't have any but my God the presentation of food is also part of the enjoyment and experience. And something that looks unappealing, like it was thrown, certainly does not warrant a taste test. Secondly the "lobster" pizza that I ordered with shrimp. That was a big mistake on my end. I don't know what ingredients you use or what recipe you are using, but it's not working out. 1 there was no lobster no taste of lobster anywhere, 2 there were clearly 0 shrimp in there although I paid extra for it. The blend of flavors were utterly disgusting. I am known to eat alot and everything and hate wasting food but you guys have managed to make me do one of the things I hate the most in this world. It was inedible.
I'm bashing hard on this food for 2 reasons: Firstly it's the fact that I am paying so much money for small amounts of food and instead of receiving a foodgasm of flavors to melt my palette away, I receive something that a 6 year old would cook up for their parents when they first learn to cook. It's plain robbery of my love for food and my money. Secondly, I have lived in Haiti and I have ate at their location in PetionVille, I am familiar with the taste there, thinking I would be able to enjoy and reminisce the good times with good friends and good food, I ordered. Only to be disappointed to such an extent that I have to go out of my way to review because this has to change.
Anyways I do hope this restaurant takes these feedbacks into consideration to come back better but hey I'm just 1 customer with a bad experience so you can do whatever you want.
Stay blessed PS: I am so disappointed that I will post everywhere to complain. It'll be the same post copy paste just to make sure I reach the owners and help the customers make...
Read moreAll the love for my Haitian people. I am proud of the work and efforts so many of my people are doing in the food industry. I was quite excited to learn about them. As a Haitian born but diaspora raised. Being a New Yorker for over 35 years and an ultimate foodie who explores numerous cuisines, pizza and carribean food lover; was excited about this place. Got the food then nothing but 🥴. Don’t know about their other meals but I ended up trashing two of the pizzas and sharing one with a typical Haitian lady who primarily eats Haitian food. She hated it. Our kids took one bite, didn’t even finish the tiny domino size slice. Appreciate the effort. Huge fail for me. Waste of my money. Would never again. Purchased the griot, lambi and sea food pizza. 😳 horrible decisions. The meat seasoning completely overpowered the pizza. Tasted the onions and bone fragments in the griot. Huge No no… The griot was too hard, lambi was undercooked esp for pizza, the other sea food were tough. Crustacean meat should NOT be overcooked. EVER . Pizza dough was hard. Seemed over mixed. Since they are on nordstrand, (Haitianville) they always have Haitians buying it and thinks it’s amazing but bet you won’t have any Italians swooping there. Perhaps their other dishes are ok but I’ll pass on anything pizza. I rather have little Cesar. Concept seems great but go learn about pizza first before experimenting with other cuisines. Please stop using cheddar cheese in NY Pizza . In Haiti, maybe since Haitians thinks cheddar cheese is the only cheese that exists for every meal. Please learn how to diversify and utilize other cheeses based on the meal. Cheese lover here ✋🏽 also. At least use quality cheese. Not processed bland cheese. Yeah the wait is absurd. I am the traveling type for food from NYC to NJ to CT to the hamptons for amazing food, also support my people locally but this is a non merci...
Read moreI was hesitant to try the food here because TikTok reviews differed significantly from those on Google. The only service I received was from the cashier, who had a less-than-stellar attitude but was not rude and was very patient. It might have been a busy day for her, so I understand. I initially considered ordering the pâté and tacos but, due to some negative reviews, decided to go with the Pitiwo seafood medium.
My child, who isn’t a fan of meat or seafood, said the toppings were delicious, especially the veggies. Haitian cuisine is known for its great seasoning, so I was pleased with how well it was done. However, I spent $32 and felt that there should have been a bit more seafood, as it seemed to be mostly onions and bell peppers. Next time, I'll opt for the meat option. The pizza tasted good overall, so I’m willing to overlook this.
The crust isn’t a typical thin or thick crust like NYC pizza shops, Papa John’s or Domino's; it has more of a naan bread texture. The cheese is a mix, different from the usual mozzarella, and has additional seasoning due to its Haitian influence. Despite the mixed reviews, I recommend trying it at least once. Consider getting a slice, a taco, and a pâté, which will cost around $24 and give you a taste of everything to help you decide if it's a place...
