To Owner's: I reply to you sincerely.

As expressed in my review. I used to love this place.

I thank you for your request to come visit again. Sad to say, I lost trust in this place and that is not something that can so easily be replaced. I do wish this place all the best. The food, while I used to go, was always delicious.

As an owner I know it will be very hard to believe my words. However, I showed it to the old man who still works there. He started cleaning and did not say a word and brought me the check. It is not my responsibility to request a refund. It was his to offer it. He did not. After that, I never came back.

It was not a chilly. I know what a chilly compared to those small roaches looks like. Another aspect of your "investigation" that is wrong is that, I DO NOT ORDER SPICY. I ALWAYS ORDERED LESS SPICY. The roach, you could see the wings and the head! It was one of those annoying small roaches. I am sorry you "investigated" and found my claim to be false. I can assure you, it is not false. I know what I saw, because I also moved the thing in the dish when I showed it to the waiter (the old man). It was at the bottom of my dish and at the time, beyond disgusting after having enjoyed the meal but was unable to fully finish it. I am sorry this causes discomfort. However, it is the truth.

Unfortunately, after that experience, I find it hard to be able to comfortably come back. I think it is unacceptable that it happened to begin with but worse that the old man completely ignored it when it was shown to him. It absolutely sucks that I lost the photo. It is my word against your "investigation".

God bless, all the best!

Original Review: A lot of people either love or hate the food. Personally, I like it but the service is lacking and the understanding also. I had ordered the tikka massla and found a dead roach on the bottom of the dish! I showed it to the old man who is both cashier and server and he pretended he knew nothing. He didnt even discount the dish. It was absolutely disgusting and Ive not gone back. I lost the photo unfortunately, if not I would have posted it. Maybe he was shocked too. Idk but the fact that he did nothing to show how unacceptable that is...left me questioning the entire place and have not ordered again. It suck because it used to be my go-to as a student that goes near by. Please reconsider this place. Again sucks for me to not be able to trust their ethics with food because I used to...

Worst Indian restaurant ever!! Today 7/9 was my first visit there as i recently moved a week ago n the door was always locked but it was open tdy n I went in. I was hesitant to go inside as the doors were open only 3 tables in the front n then they blocked off with chairs bikes etc looks like some kind of storage room. Very dirty n smelly. I thought maybe the food will be amazing so I can overlook all this. While sitting there few door dash n delivery guys will come in n stand nxt to my table to pick up their orders. It wasn’t fine dining by any means. I am an Indian woman who herself is a great cook but always eager to try out. I ordered paneer makhni & onion kulcha. There is a 80 year old man who looks like to do the waiter, cashier & serving food. It takes him forever to go from one corner to another. I was starving n waiting for food & the only customer there still took them one hour to prep. One bite of food it was disgusting. Tasted like I am eating a dessert . No spice ratio. I left most curry n rice. It was not edible. Any Indian will know what authentic Indian food is. I need to warn Indians not to try their food as it’s flavorless n tasteless. American customers who try first time may not know. I know lot of Americans who knows how it tastes. This is not worth trying. The 80 year old man I talked about he has a lot of attitude. I told him that so much food is left as I didn’t like a bit even I was starving. One bite of that food & l lost my appetite. Then comes cherry on the cake. Bill was $20.31. On the menu he gave me the dish paneer makhni was $11.95 n was charged $12.95. When I asked him why he says it’s the old menu so I said you should tell me n inform me that the price is higher. Then it says on the bill charge $3. I questioned him what’s that for?? I was told that’s the table charge as I sat in the terrible heat n sweating n mopads n delivery guys are inches away from me. I thought he will be courteous to apologize for any inconvenience. Not so!!! He was actually very rude and wanted the tip. I thought he must be dreaming. I walked away hungry & picked up some Chinese food to change the disgusting taste of my mouth. Eat at your own risk @Ashoka you have been warned!!! Extremely...

DO READ THE WHOLE THING

The worst people ever managing the restaurant. This is the second time they were unprofessional and rude.

1st experience. Ordered samosa for pick up. Didn't realize they take cash below 10 $. So the guy walked away with my order. There was a lady sitting there offered me cashapp pay and she give me cash but the rude manager just ignored and showed his back walking away with my order. FYI.. the guy knows me by face coz I have ordered zillion times from them.

2nd experience. Ordered delivery from doordash. Got a message after 30 mins. Restaurant canceled ur order. Do called them to ask what happened. The guy replies ee cannot disclose the reason.. I said but I Ordered from the app and it says restaurant canceled So I need to know the reason. I insisted So he replied in a rude tone don't ask us call doordash. So mentioned that message says restaurant canceled So want to know wat hapnd. He gave phone to his manager speaking in bengali since they from Bangladesh. The manager started YELLING at me "U did not order from us our website So don't ask us. Call doordash. I said you canceled So I want to know the reason. He kept YELLING in a rude loud tone. I had to hung up.

My understanding. When I order on phone they charge me 16 for the order plus tax plus extra charge of 2 dollars (no explanation).. so it all comes to 20 bucks and then I tip the driver.

With doordash my order was all together 14 bucks plus I would give tip to driver.

So I believe they are unprofessional and they should not have these apps for...

Ashoka Grill is a MUST HAVE if you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine‼️ I ordered the Salmon Korma with Garlic Naan and a Mango Lassi. The entree was quite fragrant, sweet, creamy, with a nice crunch from the almond slices, and well spiced. I may have tasted some cardamom in there. It had a beautiful color to it, and the salmon was juicy, crispy, and well seasoned, too. As for the Mango lassi, I consumed it the day after, but it was fruity, with a nice tang from the yogurt. In addition, the elder gentleman gave me a complimentary small cup of some mango ice cream, which was quite delightful. Honestly speaking, that day was a hard day for me, and I was looking for some comfort. I was greeted warmly by an elder gentlemen who served me kindly and made me feel comfortable within the environment. I found solace there that day, to the point where I wanted to cry, but withheld that so I could fully enjoy my meal. Everything was delicious, the temperature was great, and the service was stellar. I'm glad for my second dine-in experience at this great place. I was beyond pleased to the point I wish I had the funds to sponsor said establishment, which goes to show just how much I enjoyed my food and experience. I will warn you, though, for those who want to dine in, it's mainly ceiling fans, so dine in may not be for you if you can't stand a little heat. I am an island girl, though, so it was nothing. 🫶🏽🏝 A 15/10 for me. What can I say, I'm easy.

We normally order delivery and sometimes order for pick up and the food is always excellent and made fresh. However, today we decided to order directly from the restaurant, and the hospitality that the owner has for this restaurant blends the perfect food and good vibes atmosphere. The owner took the time to go over anything I was curious about on the menu, and after we ordered he delighted us with free mango ice cream that was delicious. He also added a delicious cucumber yogurt on the side with no charge because he knew that I was curious about it. The chicken Tikka masala was delicious, and you cannot go wrong with there samosas, and garlic naan. 10/10 food experience, my boyfriend and I love this place and we stay true to it! Fantastic Indian cuisine that is traditional and fresh!
