Newark Waterfront Center — Local services in Newark

My experience with this establishment was not the best. First off when I viewed this venue for my event I like the size of the room. I signed the contract that same day and left a deposit. I met with the manager George, not one time did he mention that the audio for the Dj and screens were not included in the price ($1750) Weeks later we were told that we had to pay an extra $550 to include these items...ok np. My contract stated we would be able to set up our event between the hours of 3-7. George showed up at 4pm which pushed us back a whole hour. He told me no other venue gives this much time and he did this for us as a favor, needless to say we had a written contract for these hours. 1 week before my event he texted me to tell me my event was 2 weeks away and that I had a balance....excuse me? My balance was 0, I had to send him a copy of my zero balance invoice. The night of my event we had many mishaps where we need assistance to which no one was there to help. The young guy that was supposed to host our event left us his number and stated he would return every 2 hrs or if we needed him. Where they do that at???? We were not able to display our videos on the screens even the young guy tried to help but wasn't able to. Our dj called twice and was told twice that they had the cables that were needed to hook up his board. Well the night of the event they scrambled to find what was needed. Mind you everything was recorded. The lighting was not the best because no one was there to assist us to get the perfect ombiance with lighting. The air conditioning needed adjustment once again we had to wait for the host to show up. The biggest upset of the night was the parking lot was full of trucks and trailers. my guest were arriving and getting confused because they thought they were in the wrong place.!! We were supposed to receive a $200 deposit back 48 hrs after the event. I texted the manager exactly 48hrs after and he did not respond. The following Monday I texted him again. he then responded with how it wasn't their problem the screens did not work for us, and that it basically was our fault. What???? I told him since we were not able to use the screens we should be compensated. His response to my concerns was not professional. He did say that he would refund the $200 incidental fee and $100 for the screens. I thought we deserved more since the night came with so many problems. He also offered to be our host for the next event that we have there. Honestly I would never host another event at The waterfront!!!!! I was more stressed that night than I've been in a long time. All I can say is when you're paying over $2000 for an event you want your money's worth. Also the event pricing on their Facebook has so many different amounts ...I find that a bit shady. The place has potential but for me the night was too eventful and not in a good way. Waterfront center of Newark you really need to adjust your business...

Si pudiera darle menos estrellas se la daría por no ser claros en el momento del contrato tanto en precios como en su servicios.Este lugar no lo recomiendo para nada te llaman para cobrar completo antes del evento para ellos si asegurarse de cobrar completo por su servicio ya que si aceptaran que se pagara en 2 pagos uno antes de la fecha y otro luego que termine tu evento estoy más que segura que nadie les pagaría por todos los inconvenientes y disgustos que se tienen y no por uno si no por su servicio. Y cuando uno se reclama el reembolso ya que por parte de ellos no cumplieron el uno dice llama a Jorge este al dueño y el dueño o sus encargados o tú hiciste el negocio con el pregúntale a él , nadie dice yo respondo por eso mi evento fue el September 7 y llevo 20 días que me han hecho esperar y nada que responden hasta el día de hoy y sigo esperando solo ignoran las llamadas o ni ven tus mensajes que pena como personas ya que dicen que representan a la iglesia o que no que dicen que entienden tu caso y no hacen nada por eso decidí escribir el review de este local para que en un futuro no pasen lo que uno ya pasó y no se conocía pero ellos como dueños si estaban al tanto. Para cualquier persona que desee rentar este local en un futuro no lo hagan por las siguientes razones. te cobran más y luego no utilizas nada Utilice este local para unos 15 y fue full service pantallas sonido y no ocupe nada de eso y no es justo tener que pagar a alguien por un resumen para las pantallas y el sonido y tuve que buscar un Dj de último momento es frustrante. Y luego no se disfruta de la noche por andar subiendo los breakers Los breakers de la luz se bajan a cada instante ya que no tienen la suficiente energía o capacidad para que un Dj, banda o sonido pueda funcionar correctamente en su fiesta se ve como un velorio con sus apagones a cada rato. Él equipo y todo lo rentan y te cobrar pero no hay ninguna persona capacitada que esté ahí para que inspeccione o te indique cómo son sus conexiones y funcionamiento y luego después que termina mal tu evento pero si a ti se te daña aparecen para cobrarte y aunque se le llamen desde la mañana nunca aparecen y tu evento termina mal y con gasto extras Para el evento tú tienes poco tiempo para la decoración de 4pm a 7pm y en ese sentido cualquier decoradora que han estado ahí no lo quieren hacer debido al mismo motivo y si para que te abran las puertas más pronto tienes que pagar más dinero por hora te dicen que te van a dar tachos para la basura y no funciona Tiene. Parqueo pero eso no significa que uno se puede utilizar o disponer de todos esos espacios ya que hay otro salón en la parte de abajo en el primer piso y dividen el parqueo y si quieres más espacios tienes que pagar y debido a que están ubicados en una highway como es la 21 es difícil que puedas parquear en la calle y entrar o venir caminando razón por el cual tus invitados no asistirán o se irán ya que no hay donde puedan dejar su vehículo de forma segura además necesitan más luz para alumbre el parqueo cuando entras puedes utilizar el parqueo de arriba que está lado de la puerta que está cerca a la ruta de la 21 pero es peligrosa no tiene una rampa adecuada y tu carro se golpea al subir y bajar el sidewalk y puedes perder tu concentración al salir a la ruta y tener un accidente. -El aire acondicionado no funciona Si necesitas ensayar en el local tienes que buscar con tiempo espacio ya que es utilizado por la iglesia en la noche y en el día ellos no...

I liked the place...but I couldn't recomended because Two persons whose were in my party was so rude......they made us uncountable..they make complains to invited people.....for me it was embarrassing....sorry but I had bad experience recently ....but Judith is friendly and professional ...
