Mother's California Market — Local services in Newport Beach

I'm writing 5 Stars for Mother's mostly because I believe they need to be highlighted as a stand-out alternative to Whole Foods (which is owned by Amazon).

I've definitely found my health food haven at Mother's Market & Kitchen! This place absolutely deserves every bit of these five stars for their exceptional quality and service.

Their selection of organic and natural foods is simply outstanding - always fresh, thoughtfully sourced, and with options to accommodate every dietary need imaginable. What truly sets them apart is their supplement section, which is comprehensive and staffed by knowledgeable employees who can actually guide you through the sometimes overwhelming world of vitamins and supplements.

The absolute highlight of my visits has become their monthly specialty smoothies. Each month brings a new creative concoction that somehow manages to be both nutritionally dense and genuinely delicious. Last month's blend with seasonal berries and a hint of ginger was so good I went back three times in one week!

The store itself is clean and well-organized, making shopping a pleasant experience rather than a chore. Their prepared foods section is also worth mentioning - perfect for those days when you want something healthy but don't have time to cook. I love shopping at Mother's Market because I know that I'm getting high-quality for me and my family. They have a wide variety of organic and natural foods, as well as a great selection of prepared foods and snacks. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the store is always clean and well-organized.

The tuna is delicious-just perfect (so grateful it isn’t heavy or drenched in mayo like so many are). The pulled chicken can be a bit dry sometimes, but I usually add some pesto or garlic hummus or the delicious vegan cilantro dressing to it, which helps to moisten it up. And the greenhouse donuts are amazing!

I'm also a big fan of their breads. They have a great selection of both organic and gluten-free breads, and they're always so fresh and delicious. I love the Mothers Sweet bread the most!

Overall, they have a wide variety of high-quality foods, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to shop.

Produce is okay, but my experience there was awful! I was in line waiting to check out and the line is u shaped to the register, as I approach the register I noticed that a second line formed in the wrong direction, I let the guy in the wrong line know where the line was and he proceeded to talk to me in a demeaning manor, the staff ignored me when I asked for help, this gonzo looking white man was insulting and rude to me, but because I’m the only Latina around (no matter how right I was) no one spoke up especially not staff.
