
For many years, I have worked out at home since I considered myself a homebody and was adamant on not being inside a gym. As I was working out I felt like I plateaued and the workouts I was doing wasn’t doing anything for me. One day I decided that I wanted to be in the presence of others and try something different and get out of the house. I saw my aunt and uncle’s videos on Instagram doing CrossFit and thought that it would be something I should try it out. I was doing research on CrossFit gyms around me and came across NewCov and saw they were the only one that offered a free Saturday class that I could find.
I decided to do the free beginners class on Saturday. At first I was intimated by all the equipment I never seen before and the very fit people in the gym. As the workout started, it was such a different environment than I was used to. The partner workout was very fun and intense. I decided to try another Saturday class to see if I wanted to continue. After the second class that automatically changed to a yes!
The beginners classes were very informative, the coaches were motivating and helped you along the way and they still help you even if you been there for a long time. After 4 weeks of the beginners class I decided to move to the regular CrossFit to give myself a new challenge.
After about 3 months of CrossFit, I am in the best shape of my life. I can do things that I never imagined I could do. I’m able to lift so much more weight than I ever could. I can’t thank NewCov CrossFit enough for its positive and challenging environment. I decided to not do my home workouts anymore and be around others that challenge me everyday. Read more“I was never able to find a "home" with exercise or fitness. When I stepped foot into NewCov Crossfit almost three years ago, I didn't realize immediately what had happened. Yes, I knew this challenge would be good for me. Yes, I knew the coaches were beyond great - personality and knowledge. Yes, I knew it would be the "home" that would make a difference... but what I didn't realize was how much of a difference. I now have a "hobby" that has become my livelihood. My life has changed due to Crossfit - physically (22 lbs lost and clothing changed from 8/10 to 2/4 size); socially (so many new friends, many who are like family); and emotionally (I drive to succeed in all aspects of my life now, not just fitness). Read moreI decided to try out CrossFit when I noticed myself plateauing at my old gym and wanted to challenge myself with something new. I was a little nervous heading into a new gym, with new people, and trying something I had no knowledge of. From the moment I walked in, the coaches and community quickly changed those nerves to excitement. The atmosphere at NewCov is extremely welcoming to all walks of life. Everyone wants you to work hard and push yourself, no matter your ability level. No one judges you for having to modify lifts and they will cheer you on and congratulate you when you hit a new PR. The coaches are very knowledgeable and are always willing to help. I have already fallen in love with NewCov in a short 6 weeks and can't wait to see how far I can push myself and all of the new people I get to meet. I cannot recommend...
