Peluso's Market needs to be more strongly recognized for its seedling selection and prices. My husband and I stopped by the nearby comics store and stopped here on the way back to the car. I didn't even know what the name of the store was until I scoured Google Maps for it so I can remember and go back!
I had no idea this was a candy store. I'm not a candy fan, but I am a food gardener and the little seedlings they had sitting along the sidewalk caught my eye. Unfortunately, I already have most of my seedlings growing in pots, so I only had room for the harder-to-find seedlings and bought a cauliflower and zucchini plant. Total cost: $2.50. One Bonnie plant anywhere else is at least $4.00. I couldn't believe that price and wish I'd known of this place sooner. I will most assuredly be back to shop their seedlings and I hope they consider expanding in this area (for example, carrying seedlings at more times of the year, more types like berry plants, and even gardening supplies). Both employees I spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable. The man warned me how fast zucchinis can grow since it's my first time growing one, but seemed happy when I said these plants are my babies so I'll be checking on them multiple times per day! Both seedlings I bought transported home safely in their little box and are happily acclimating to their pots on my deck (photos attached). Of course, they are also named (Blanche the cauliflower and Zuckerberg the zucchini).
Peluso's Market has risen to be my #1 destination for seedlings after only one unplanned visit. Every gardener needs to stop here and check out these plant steals (they also sell flowers for the non-foodie gardeners out there). Please support this wonderful little local market. I'll be traveling out of the way to go here for plants in the future.
Update 7/20/22: Both Blanche and Zuckerberg have flourished. Zuckerberg in particular is a monster who refuses to be tamed by stakes, cages, or pleas. See new added photo for details,...

There are different food items to purchase, drinks and LOTS of different candies to enjoy. Candies are sold by volume and there are scoops and bags for your convenience. The Peluso Market will have seasonal candies available for Easter, Christmas and other occasions.
The black and white photos are of my great grandparents, Giovanni and Antoinette Peluso, the founders of Peluso Market. There is a photo of my wife and I flanking my cousin Sherry and my Great Aunt Frances who operate the store. The other photo is me standing in front...
