This place is absolutely horrible. I ordered something online for in store pick up, and at checkout it specifically said that if I ordered before 6pm, the order would be ready for me the same day. To be fair, I ordered around 5:30 but after more than two hours of waiting, I decided to just go to the store and see if they had my order. After going to "The Registry" to see if they had my order, they reported that it was not available and kept telling me that I needed to wait for the email. I thought it was kind of ridiculous that no one had picked anything up considering that the store was not busy at all. So much for in store orders being ready within a few hours. I asked if I could instead just go find my item in the store and buy it, but it didn't appear that it was on the main sales floor. No one offered to check the back, help me find it, or to actually simply walk somewhere in the store to pick my item up. All they kept saying was yOu nEeD tO wAiT foR ThE eMaIL. So... I ended up walking through the mall for another 30 minutes hoping that it would be ready but nope nothing at all. I ended up calling Bloomingdale's customer service while I was in the Bloomingdale's store and they were very polite and helpful. They tried calling associates in the store to have a word with them, but no one was picking up. Not even any of the managers answered the call. This was really troubling because I had taken a thorough walk throughout the store and I saw that there were literally employees available but not doing anything because that's how slow it was. I guess no one could even bother to answer a phone call from one of their own colleagues. When the phone associate finally reached someone at The Registry, the same person told them that the order would not be available for pickup. The only reason I ordered in store pickup was because it was supposed to be ready the same day... The fact that absolutely no one in the store offered more help other than telling me I needed to wait for an email was really off putting. Seriously though what a load of BS and false advertising to say that an order would be ready the same day and then waste my time going to the store. The communication at this place is awful. I feel bad that the Bloomingdale's phone associate had to deal with the Chestnut Hill's location's BS as well....
Read moreI am a long time card member of Bloomies, as is the rest of my family, so I was very shocked by our most recent visit to the Chestnut Hill location - specifically the men's section.
On the 26th, I visited the Chestnut Hill men's location with my father and mother to exchange the Hugo Boss suit I had purchased as a gift. It wasn't busy at all so I was excited about the opportunity to look around at some different suits with my dad.
An sales rep came to assist us and from the beginning of our interaction, he was INCREDIBLY condescending and rude. When asking questions about different Hugo Boss styles, I was repeatedly spoken over by the gentleman and was then told "well I don't know how to help you - why don't you look around to see if you can find what you are looking for". Yes, when asking him "Do you have this size in any other colors" the direct response was "Have you looked?.. I don't know how to help you - why don't you look around to see if you can find what you are looking for".
When my father asked a simple question about a different brand - Canali, the sales rep confidently said "Well no no that's out of our league. It's much more of a BMW.. the Hugo Boss suits you're looking at are not good quality but that's why they are the Honda". We know what Canali is, not to mention we didn't ask about the cost.
I'm not sure if its because we walked in wearing jeans and sneakers or because the sales rep didn't want to speak to a woman about Men's suits, but I thought I would make customer service aware of this horrendous treatment. I ended up returning my initial purpose and immediately leaving.
I shop at Bloomingdales because I appreciate the quality in the brands that are carried as well as the kindness that the employees have - that said, it doesn't matter what an individual looks like when stepping through the doors, they should be treated equal - especially when you have sales reps who approach conversations with their personal...
