If I could give ZERO Stars I certainly would. I went this evening to the self-service copy center and had a credit card authorization issue with the copy'/printer machine I was using. After inserting two valid chip cards, the card authorization process still didn't work. So, I pushed "cancel transaction" and the display kept telling me that it was "in process". Well after waiting 5 minutes and watching the wheel "spin" on the display and never completing the cancellation. I asked for help. The associate in the Print/Copy Center was tied up with 2 customers so I went to the customer service and asked the associate there to call his manager. I am ok with the machine not working, but what occurs next is ridiculous. I watch the customer service associate call the manager, BRYAN BROWN, (I can clearly hear and see Bryan from where I am standing and he can see me) and Bryan tells the associate that I should wait for the associate in the Print Copy Center. I am still ok, BUT NOW HE HELPS 3 OTHER CUSTOMERS AND IN THE COURSE OF THAT WALKS PAST ME AND HE CERTAINLY KNOWS I AM THE ONE REQUESTING ASSISTANCE. Then I walk over the Bryan and he attempts to REWRITE HISTORY and tell me that he never saw me. I WAS LOOKING AT HIM AND HE SAW ME FROM THE FIRST TIME the associate in Customer Service contacted him. Let me add (a) that the Customer Service Associate called the manager twice and (b) all three of us were standing in CLEAR VIEW OF EACH OTHER AND LOOKING AT EACH OTHER.
FIND ANOTHER STAPLES STORE, Bryan Brown is incompetent! To Staples Management - just go to your video recording of the store and everything I am telling you can be confirmed as fact....
Read moreThis review is strictly for the finishing services:
I come to this Staples location all the time because it is close by to me so time trumps other factors. I get a lot of binding done so I am always working with people in the finishing counter. Although the service hasn’t been great (consistently) this is the first time I’ve been prompted to write a review. The young blonde woman was extremely rude and unaccommodating, to a point where it makes me rethink coming here. While I understand certain things may not be possible or timing can’t be guaranteed, there is absolutely a polite way to deal with things. In the past, she has been just as rude, and often times, she has made mistakes with my books, such as cutting off entire parts and having to copy and reprint the pages, which changes the finish and the look of the product. Regardless of mistakes, she has always charged the full price, with no adjustments for her errors. Today, while she didn’t perform the finishing for me, I opted to do it myself, and she still charged me an express finishing fee because I was taking the material, which was already covered in the material cost. I would recommend waiting for a different employee to help you with your needs if you ever need to get any finishing work done, as this young woman rushes through her work and does not care about the quality of the product you are entrusting her with. I hope Staples looks into this matter, because customers have an expectation going in that they are...
Read moreMy husband and I went to the Staples in Newtown today, to see what they had to offer in the way of desktop printers. After looking around the store a bit, which was very clean and organized, I asked a question of an associate by the name of Eric. Eric was not only knowledgeable and helpful, but had a professional and kind demeanor. He answered every question that I had about printers and some that I hadn’t even thought of. Not only did he help us purchase a printer, but he also was able to make us aware of great discounts, like trading in our old printer, joining the Staples rewards online for coupons and specials. During check out another associate, named Vicky was just as helpful and kind and made us feel like making is happy was their most important job. These days it’s rare to find great customer service, but we now know one place to get it, Staples in Newtown. Thank you Eric &...
