Naked Chocolate is a beautifully posh, super fancy chocolate shop. There is nothing else like it in the suburbs. It would fit right in our Center City or New York City. The store layout is open, sleek, and modern. Their logo style is minimalist pairing perfectly with their discreet, recyclable packaging. When you enter the store, your eyes are immediately drawn to the gorgeous bon bons presented and arranged in a clear case so you can behold their luster, shine, and beauty. You can make selections to create your own box with all your favorites. These exquisite little works of art are filled with unique, exotic ingredients and flavors. I recently purchased their excellent dark chocolate chips for baking. My husband steals them and snacks on them by the handful. He wouldn't even consider doing this with my usual supermarket chocolate chips. Naked's chocolate chips are just that good. In addition to their own amazingly creative, homemade chocolate bars with interesting inclusions like rose and raspberry, there is a neat Bar Wall of different local and imported artisan chocolate bars with rotating new selections. You can Eat the Box with their edible decorative boxes hand-painted by true artists. Everything is picture perfect for gift giving. My achilles heel is their incredible pate de fruit. Just like the type I tried in Belgium but nearly impossible to find here in America. These are not your kid's candy colored fruit slices. While I do like those too, pate de fruit satisfies a more sophisticated palate. They taste like the actual real fruit as opposed to just sugar. I love that Naked Chocolate has a mission statement. Ethically sourced, direct trade chocolate is very important to Naked's owners who want a fair wage for cacao farmers. Buying from Naked Chocolate makes you feel good and responsible to be supporting these farming families and their local communities. It's fascinating to learn your chocolate has an origin story behind it. Don't be intimidated by the hip, upscale decor because there is no pretension or stuffiness to the vibe of the store at all. The staff is super nice, warm, friendly, and welcoming. They want you to come in and have a grand old time. While inside, you can sample their rich, thick hot chocolate mix exactly like Italian cioccolata calda. They offer first class service all the way. If you prefer to shop online, their website is beautiful with large, bold pictures and a sharp, clean presentation. It's easy to navigate and a cinch to order. Naked Chocolate has truly spoiled me for other chocolate. Other chocolate just doesn't seem worth the calories or the money when compared to the fine, top notch, high quality offerings I...
Read moreI’ve been stopping by this shop once in awhile for probably close to a year. My go to is their bonbons, and my favorite was the vegan dark ganache flavor.
However, the Summer Collection is now my favorite, because I now have three favorites from this collection. My favorites are Limoncello, Sherbet and Rocky Road, so good! Two of them had a great combination of fruit and chocolate, and the Rocky Road is well Rocky Road!
I admit the prices are higher, but worth the price if they are respecting the farmers that they source the cocoa from. You can tell by tasting it, it’s quality chocolate and so pretty to look at!
A great place to get family and friends a gift, because they will know there was care in the chocolates and other confections from here. I’ve bought the dark chocolate & milk chocolate pretzels for my Mom and a former co-worker; they both really enjoyed them!
So, I might not stop by all the time, but I definitely will stop by as a special treat for myself and will definitely continue to buy...
Read moreWhat a brilliant little shoppe! As soon as you enter, you are swept up in a Willy Wonka of old euphoria of chocolatey delight. There is drinking chocolate behind the counter, heated and stirred to perfection, with a choice of milk or dark chocolate. Mind you, this is not your typical "hot chocolate", but authentic chocolate for drinking, rich, creamy, and thick. Bars of flavored chocolates with fruit and nuts line the side wall, along with gift style soapstone cups, and beautiful flatware. The back wall features a window into the chocolate decorating room, where you can view the artistry that goes into making the sweet confections. Cases of bon bons are visible in line to the counter, each one filled with exciting and exotic flavors. Our family looks forward to returning during a...
