Hammurabi Market — Local services in Niles Township

Most of their products are expired. I bought couple of things from them that are expired and the first time it happened I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I went and talk to them nicely and asked for the product to be removed from the shelves and didn’t even take a refund. I went back yesterday bought a couple of things, and the drinks were all expired and my whole family already drink it including my pregnant sister. I was so upset and furious I went back today and checked the shelves before I spoke to a manager and all the drinks on the shelves were expired, when I spoke to the manager he didn’t seem to care at all and he said “yes we have a lot of expired items and we don’t have enough workers to check” how is that the customer’s fault? This is so unprofessional and I’m sure if the department of public health knows this they won’t allow it. The manager gave me a refund and I walked out like nothing happened even thought the products are still sitting on...

Walked in here and got racially profiled. Man said I stole a $1.50 lighter after I had already paid for it and bought a pack of cigarettes. I emptied out my pockets and made him look goofy. First of all, there’s a store filled with people and more expensive items than a $1.50 lighter. Why are you watching me that closely at the register when there’s two employees themselves up there who can watch the front. Second of all, if anyone is gonna steal from this place I’m sure it’s gonna be for a lot more than $1.50. He was rude, unapologetically, and RACIST. Don’t come here. He went back and checked the camera and knew he messed up and started to change his story. He said “if I messed up then I’m sorry.” No it’s not “if” you messed up. You know you did. And again why are you watching me that closely on the cameras when I was already standing in front of TWO of your coworkers. I guarantee he doesn’t treat white customers this way. While they have a terrific selection of intriguing products, shopping here wasn't a pleasant experience. A male shopper got so close to me without a mask, I could feel his breath on me. Some of the aisles were too narrow and poorly lit. An incredibly angry man walked out of the store right behind me, screaming and cussing on top of his lungs. I was scared to walk back to my car. Two homeless dudes were loitering outside the store - one was sitting on a bench begging and the other one was meditating in the parking lot.
