Since we’re protesting a lot of fast food chains. As someone on a budget in college, I’ve been getting creative with finding places that fit the: “I want meat with rice and vegetables but I don’t want to feel bad after eating it for $10 and still satisfying” criteria.
Alright so listen, if you had a $10 bill and some change and you really needed something to eat 5 Boroughs is where it’s at. Not sure if they’re family owned but everytime I’ve come here I see the same middle aged older man and younger gentleman in the kitchen.
They offer daily specials ($10): ranging from pizza slices, sandwiches, gyros, salads, that come with a drink.
My woman and I tried their daily special cheeseburger (comes with fries and drink) $10 and a lamb kebab platter $12, two sticks of lamb with hummus, shredded lettuce, cucumber and tomato salad, pita bread on side. We spent no more than $24 after tax. It was the perfect amount of food for two hungry adults.
The burger was interesting and flavor due a special kind of halal patty. It had almost like a very soft tender sausage like texture. Had a little kick to it too. I didn’t even have to add condiments bc it was so good. Seasoned fries paired with the burger and pineapple Fanta was chefs kiss.
Side note: try the pineapple Fanta. If you’re into pineapple or tropical flavors. It’s seriously sooo good! The sweetness complimented the punching fresh flavors of our meal.
This place has been a staple on Colley for many years. They’re consistent. I expect to go to a place and food and portions are always the same despite the pandemic this biz is still thriving.
Great place to bring the kids too if you have a family due to its affordability. There’s a little something for everyone. Next time I go I want to try their subs and...
Read moreWe’ve been in this restaurant several times and every time the food was amazing: fresh, hot, juicy and flavorful. We live in Virginia Beach and don’t mind driving 25 mins when we crave this food. Today, 12/14, we’ve called them to order “to go”, and asked to start cooking upon our arrival to be sure that the food is hot. We’ve ordered chicken shawarma wrap with fries and lamb shawarma platter. The people who worked there tonight (a young girl and a guy, I wish I’ve asked their names) were super nice. They started preparing our order just 5 minutes before closing time and didn’t show any attitude about it. They were smiling, talking to us and prepared our food in the best way, as they always do. I don’t know where the owner finds these people, but I hope he/she appreciate them as much as customers do. Thank you, guys! You are amazing! We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food. Looking forward for a new location in...
Read moreScam scam scam! I wish i can rate them -5 Stars,
I don't know where to start,
They left the restaurant to bunch of newbies who didn't even know the meaning of shawarma, i ordered shawarma i came home it was definitely not a shawarma, they made exactly opposite of what I asked,
The cashier comes in and argues with me whether i bought spicy shawarma or not, i said they didn't ask me about it so i don't know , anyways kept arguing even though i said i already prepared.
As one of the attached picture the price is 8.95 for pita shawarma I got charged 9.95 for it
I pointed out the mistake and ask him about why charging me extra for it his reply"I am not in charge of the price I charge what the owner of the restraunt asked me, the owner of the restaurant was not there so there is that,"
I wish to never go there and i hope i can get a full refund for my "SO CALLED SHAWARMA"
fyi it used to be one of my good...
