So I'm going to try this review one more time and hopefully not be bullied, bashed, or countered with exaggerated false facts from friends of the owner on MY experience. Here is a list of what went wrong yesterday at this restaurant: I made it very clear that fries were needed immediately for my child as soon as i entered the restaurant which never came. It took almost ten minutes to get a high chair for my 1 year old. This place is small, we were by a tree, and according to others i was supposed to walk him around I guess bump into tables once he got hungry to calm him down. Although our beverages came quickly, we completed them (still no fries for my child) and the 1 year old got upset because i wouldn't allow him to have my drink (his own set of "big boy" fries would have helped with this issue). Even though we tried videos, toys, his juice, a menu to play with, and singing my child was hungry and his choice of communication is to scream. This can be very nerve wrecking for a mom. But i did my research and this happens with some children. This is his choice of communication and all i can do is try my best to redirect him. Besides that this phase just has to pass Another customer got irritated ( which i completely understand) but according to this restaurant's regulars it is ok for that particular woman to yell at and about me across the room, but it's NOT ok for me to respond. And apparently, according to the regular customers, saying "we can talk about this but don't yell at me when my back is turned" is somehow threatening physical harm. Instead of a thanks for choosing our establishment, but we really can't have the baby screaming here, or someone saying is there anything we at the restaurant can do to help, I was approached by the manager with "that baby can't be in here screaming", which caused an argument. I was ready to leave prior to the manager approaching us, but remember we have to pay for those drinks and cancel those nonexistent fries. Instead because I challenged the manager's rude approach with now my equally rude response, and yes my threats to report how I was treated, the manager aggressively reached across my child to grab menus and yelled "they have to go. You all must leave." Yes people we still had a menu on the table. This is when I had my last straw. When I left I did what I believe any person would do, I went live on Facebook so MY friends could know how I was treated at this establishment and I wrote a review. This review was bashed, and countered with #alternativefacts by who I believe are the owner's friends with a description of an angry, rude, neglectful black mother. Placing almost EVERY racial stereotype on me that they could think of.

Very disappointed in this establishment. I am a loving and caring mother with a child who sat through an entire church service. He received multiple compliments on his behavior that day. I am professional, educated, and I conduct myself as such. So I will leave this review for whoever to tear apart, but please remember those of you who has never been here before, the owner has friends who will say what it takes to uphold the image of this...

Always love Little dog! Mimosas and more! Love the overloaded omlettes my crab omlette was amazing. And the homemade big biscuits. Mouthwatering. Service is also always spectacular! Update Oct 2023. This place is bangin! I have loved breakfasts here for years... Mimosas on Sunday mornings are Amazing!. Until this most recent visit I had always had breakfast. I decided to edge my comfort zone and go for lunch I tried the fried green tomato BLT (I forget the menu name.) Mostly because it blew my mind! Amazing ! The tomato was fried perfectly, not soggy or greasy at all. The bacon was thick and tasty. Bread was Texas toast and perfectly toasted. Hand reader or battered Onion rings . We're tasty and crisp...Also had the topped tots as an appetizer. Yum! They were exactly what I expected (portion was smaller than I expected as I was splitting them with my table mate. The wait staff was friendly fast and astute. I live to eat on the porch on the side but they could stand to clean the fly carcasses out of the plastic sheeting placed over the screened windows... Not very appetizing. All round a great experience. Every single time I've been in will continue to come back and you should try it too!

After a night of rocking out at The NorVa we needed some good grub to wake us up. After a quick search how can you pass up a place with a bunch doggie pictures! Cute little 1960ish type diner. They had a few seats out front, a side porch with tables and then once you enter a long counter top with stools and few other tables inside. We were greet with the nicest of Hellos from out waitress who told us to seat anywhere we wanted. We plopped right down at the counter. We were a little overwhelmed by the menu, dozens of options, so it took us awhile to figure out what we wanted. My daughter got the French Toast platter with scrambled eggs with a side of Hashbrowns. I got the Chipped Beef Platter, over easy with a side of Hashbrowns and extra toast. Even though the place was fairly busy, we got our food pretty quick. Everything was delicious. I added a little Texas Pete just for a little kick. This was a fantastic find. They also had numerous drink specials as well. Seems to be a good deal of regulars too, while we were the the Biscuit Guy came in and Mother that had as the waitress put it, "that's not the normal kid you bring". I take that as a good sign though. Can't recommend them enough!

Little Dog Diner is a hidden gem in the Ghent area of Norfolk! This was our first time visiting and they made a great impression! Lynn was our server and she was very welcoming and friendly to chat with & she made good recommendations when asked! We sat at the counter which was pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and tasty mimosas! I had the raspberry sorbet mimosa with vodka added and hubs had the pineapple with rum, Lynn offered so we figured why not! My mom had the Little Dog Diner breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast and hashbrowns. My dad was so excited to return to his old stomping grounds from when it was the Donut Dinette and liked his breakfast platter, he's picky so it was fantastic that he had such a positive experience there! I had the waffle with eggs and chose spam and tater tots to go with, so yummy especially the waffle with their special bourbon butter maple syrup! Hubs had the crab cakes and eggs with hashbrowns and biscuit, he said the crab cakes didn't have a lot of filler which is definitely a plus! We all definitely recommend and want to go back!
