Curtain Calls Xscape — Local services in Norfolk

Wife and I planned a date night and was on the lookout for an escape room that’s not all the way in Va Beach. After a few google searches we found Curtain Calls Xscape, what caught our eyes were the unique rooms they had compared to the local escape rooms. They legitimately established their own brand, perfectly placed near downtown Norfolk closer to all the local restaurants and hotspots!

We were hired on as security guards in charge of ensuring all of the rock and roll hall of fame equipment were properly stowed in the museum. Our game master and boss Jessica sent us on our way and was an absolute delight to work with! If you’re a fan of Jack Black (who isn’t) and want to take your luck as the next guard, come on down to Curtain Calls!

My friends and I did the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame room and it was a lot of fun. It was the right amount of difficulty, not too easy but also not soul shatteringly hard. It took us working together and thinking things through, but we never really felt stumped or like things were unfair or unsolvable (no moon logic like some adventure games have). The story for the room and the theming were great, and there were fun lights, and bits of music confirming when you solved a puzzle. This was the first escape room for my friends, and they had a great time and are already talking about coming back to do the other rooms. Also, totally worth adding the rubber dragons/ducks to your order, they are a fun and cute...

Did two of their rooms in one day, Rock and Roll and Magical Miscalculation. This place is awesome. The themeing is on point and every room looks amazing. The puzzles are clever, clever in a way that most places aren't able to get right. The story lines feel more original despite taking common room types and it just works so well. They even manage to use locks that I'm not used to seeing, or using more common locks in more fun ways. The people running the rooms are also a blast and super friendly. If you've played everything in VB or Williamsburg this place is worth the money, in fact it's better than most of the ones in Virginia Beach. Can't wait to play...
