I do not ever put 1 star usually on the food unless it is something that does not match the description of the order, food had very bad taste or poor presentation. ( In my case it was a take out). Today I tried for the first time Golden Fortune Restaurant . I live in Norfolk for 25 years and never been to this place before. It was my misfortune to stop by the Golden Fortune ))) First of all I expected my order to match the description to the menu. It was not right at all and it was made with different ingredients . The food (35$) ended up in the garbage 😔. Kung Pao Chicken at first is made with red peppers, chille peppers 🌶 ,peanuts and scallions and might sometimes have bamboo shoots. But here was not the case. Chicken taste like boiled chicken, there were mushrooms ,bamboo shoots and peanuts. The meal was made with brown sauce as most of the Chinese food in US is made. I also change the rice to fried rice wich is my favorite instead of steam rice. No taste , very blend and had frozen peas as some of them still not cooked . I included the pictures of the food i got and the pictures of the food item as described. You be the judge of it . As for the customer service i can't complain. The lady in front was a resl sweetheart. We go to the restaurant for the high quality food that tastes good and a smile of the personal is an addition. I do not recommend this place and I personally will never buy from...
Read moreI ordered the shrimp fried rice, general tso, and two beef lumpia. The most basic things at any chinese restaurant but I've never been here so I wanted to try the easy to get right items. Unfortunately the General Tso didnt have that sticky/crispy outside that I'm used to and it was very similar to a thin, greasy buffalo sauce. The chicken also had an off, almost gamey taste, its hard to describe but you'll understand if you've tasted it before. Very underwhelming. The shrimp fried rice was ok, kind of greasy but that's fine I dont mind greasy food. I ate two pieces of the General Tso chicken due to the taste of the chicken and the flavor of the sauce being slightly bland. My honest...
Read moreIf you're expecting extremely greasy, thick, fried sesame chicken in a thick high fructose syrup sauce, look elsewhere. I appreciate how lightly breaded the strips of sesame chicken were and that it was not overwhelmed by an extremely thick batter to be fried in or an extremely sweet and thick sauce and that they didn't give me just one tiny piece of broccoli. I could have appreciated a tiny bit more sauce for the sesame chicken, but wasn't a huge deal. Egg roll was good as well as the house lo mein. The plate was served neatly and overall presentable for a take out order. Will need to come back to try...
