I typically use the Town Center Office Depot in Virginia Beach, but after a frustrating experience there, I drove over to the Janaf location and was incredibly impressed by Justin in the print department.
My visit to the Town Center location started poorly. I arrived five minutes after opening, and the employee informed me I had to wait because she was late and needed to check in. When she was ready I asked her about an A-frame I'd been trying to purchase online, she told me she was new and needed to check with a manager about my print request. Ten minutes later, she returned, stating I'd need to come back at 10 AM because they couldn't help me. I explained I'd just driven there to confirm order details and needed assistance, asking if the 10 AM employee could call me. Her response? "No, come back up here at 10 AM." When I insisted on leaving my number, she flatly said, "She won't call you. We are not here to service just you." I was absolutely furious.
I got back in my car and immediately called the Janaf Office Max, and thankfully, Justin in the print department answered. He was nothing short of wonderful. He answered all my questions thoroughly and invited me to come down, assuring me he'd do his best to help me with my A-frame board printing needs.
When I arrived, he was helping another customer but immediately acknowledged my presence. As soon as he finished, he helped me place my order efficiently and professionally. The service I received from Justin is the high standard of service I'm used to at your other locations.
I will never go back to the Town Center Office Depot, but Justin at Janaf is now my go-to guy! He is an outstanding representative for your brand. Thank you,...
Read moreJust left the Janaf location. Michael at print was condescending and had no customer service skills. I was having trouble printing a label at the self service counter (I was able to print other documents without any issues). After some time trying to figure out why I couldn’t print, I decided to go to full service so the other customers behind me can use the self service machines. Michael was at the counter and already seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Nevertheless, I explained to him I was having a difficult time printing and asked if I could just send him the label so he print it for me. He said “I can’t because I have other print jobs for other customers waiting” all while he was folding the same box since I was printing at the self service machine. Then he talked down to me as if I didn’t know how to open my email, download an attachment and tried to tell me the difference between safari and an app - which I know very well the difference and am not tech handicapped. For approximately 10 minutes he just kept telling me what was wrong and insisted on not printing my label. I mentioned to him after 10 minutes of him trying to insult my intelligence that he could have already printed my label. I called the Pembroke location (the store I normally visit) and the manager was more than willing to print my label. I decided to call the manager at Janaf. Sharon was very nice and offered to print my label and apologized about Michael. Businesses need repeat business from loyal customers - Janaf either needs to replace or retrain Michael. However, I think it’s difficult to train kindness to staff. You either are...
Read moreHer name is Lorre, the General Manager of this store. I had waited online, and when it was my time, she started instructing me what to do with the self-help printer. She wasn't done instructing me, but the moment she saw a guy customer coming in, she left me right away and took care of him and had to wait for her again. She is so unfair, let alone being called THE GENERAL MANAGER. She should know the protocol better. When it was my time to see her, it was my time, and I expected her full attention - NO interference. She needs to focus and pay attention to the customer in front of her. On top of this, I am an elderly woman with a bad back. I can not physically stand for another long period of time waiting for her again while taking care of the customer after me. She was CHERRY-PICKING. SO UNFAIR. The other customer beside me was telling me how to do it on her BEHALF - she was multi-tasking; I didn't really want to bother her. It's not her job to instruct me. So I left very furious without doing any business in her store. And I'll never want to go back to that store. I'll make sure to spread the word around to my family, friends, and the navy community to avoid her store. LORRE, THE GENERAL MANAGER is not a good manager; she's unprofessional, she's not focused, and she's rude. she'll be popular the negative way.
I am going to send a copy of this review to the...
