This Qdoba Mexican Eats is located in the Janaf Shopping Center in Norfolk, VA. They are located in a pretty busy area too, so there's lots of other shopping areas you can explore afterwards. My visit here was on September 13, 2022.
It had been several years since I had been to a Qdoba. This is because several years ago, the one in Virginia Beach closed when the lease was up. This was always one of my favorite places to go for this type of food too. About a week ago, I had gotten a coupon for $5 off at Qdoba. I figured it was worth a shot coming out to Norfolk for this.
When we came in, there wasn't anyone else in there at the time except for the staff. We got there around 11:15 am, so it was just likely a bit early. They were hopping more though by the time we would be done with lunch. You can see that they have lots of seating available. For soft drinks, they do Coke products, and there is a self serve Coke Freestyle machine in the main dining area.
When we came up to the counter, we weren't sure what we wanted to get yet since it had been years since we had been to a Qdoba. The attendant at the counter asked if we wanted to sample the shrimp, and of course, we said yes. Both my mom and I liked the shrimp so much that we would both order Shrimp Bowls. I like that you have full control over what toppings and such you can put on it as well. I added cheese, Pico de Gallo, sour cream, mild Queso, various salsas, and of course, guacamole, which doesn't cost extra.
After ordering and such, it was time to dig in. I really loved this bowl. It had everything I was looking for in it, and you could tell that the ingredients used were fresh. My mom had said something similar to me about her bowl too. They are better that some other rivals that are in Virginia Beach, such as Chipotle too. Hopefully sometime soon Qdoba does come back to the beach. It's already a beach that they aren't there now. ;)
Overall, this was a very good first experience coming here. The food was really good and fresh. Service at the counter was on point. The place was extremely clean too, with no tables needing to be cleaned off. There is plenty of space to sit inside and eat here, but they also have a few tables outside if you wanted to eat out there too, depending on weather of course. If you happen to be in this area and have a craving for this type of food, you should definitely come in and...
Read moreI haven't eaten at Qdoba monthly, sometimes weekly, for over 5 years. I am a member of the rewards club and always participated in the BOGO Tuesdays. This particular location has been under new management for almost a year, and though the store front appearance has changed for the better, customer service and food quality have not. TODAY, I went in to redeem my BOGO that I earned from the rewards program and the customer service was terrible...not by the general staff but the MANAGER. I ordered a Mexican gumbo ( my favorite and most ordered item) and the employee proceeds to construct my meal without gumbo. This is completely wrong and not how it is made, so I ask him, instead of having him construct a brand new gumbo, to just place it in anothee bowl with the gumbo at the bottom. The manager then comes out ( in his civilian clothes, no uniform or company shirt) and ask "What are you doing, do you know how much money you've wasted on bowls?" I then inform him that I asked him to place it in another container and double the bowl because the liquid causes the bowl to be weak and break. He then proceeds to argue with me for almost 5 minutes and tell me how I have wasted $1.26 in bowls and that the bowl is meant to be eaten right then and not over night! And when ask him "Well, isn't that up to the customer's discretion?" He tell me I am "wrong" and that each bowl cost 63 cent and that I'm "wasteful". After he is dome talking he goes back in his office and I leave the poorly made bowl right there. You can not have my money and treat me poorly! My very last time at...
Read moreOnly been to Qdoba once before when I was a child and LOVED IT. Was so excited being in the area and trying it again. However, upon entering the building all that changed. Was greeted by a nice female who started my meal. When it was time to finish , another young lady took over ..BUT WAS RUDE and DID NOT make us feel welcome. Like I said i’ve only been once as a child, so I wasn’t at all familiar with the menu and tried to take my time ordering since they had a LOT of different options. The girl “helping” my friend and I did NOT allow that to happen as she rushed us, made no eye contact, and made us feel wrong for taking our time ordering and asking a few questions about the menu. When I’d ask a simple question she’d roll her eyes and just look at me as if I was wrong for asking if the queso was spicy , and if a bag of chips came free with our meal. Didn’t even answer my question as she mumbled something and quickly stuffed some chips in a bag giving us the total again RUSHING THE ORDER when we weren’t even done..If you don’t like being patient and asked questions why work a front line job like that..food wasn’t even good, was cold and didn’t taste fresh. No complaints for the first lady that served us, she was all smiles and seemed very patient. Don’t know her name but she was red headed and pale complected. Second female short, darker complected with braids, had an attitude that should not have been presented at that time. Bad representation of the company. Would’ve given a one star, but the first lady was pleasant and made me...
