I found out about Fringe by asking questions about a woman's haircut I couldn't stop staring at, haha. It was precise and the color was beautifully complimentary to her skin tone. I knew right away I needed to find out where she had her hair ddone. I call to book an appointment, -the phone conversation was friendly, made me feel comfortable (phone anxiety), and even thought I can be alittle disorganized, the receptionist Lauren (pardon me if I butcher names), made scheduling and answering questions natural. Fast forward appointment day- I left home with plenty of time to get to my appointment a few minutes early, but I had a fiasco parking. This was no fault of anyone, but my own- I'm not super familiar with the area and downtown city driving is difficult. And it was raining 😳 Anyways, I ended up a a few minutes late despite my efforts. We all know how being that late client can impact a professionals schedule. So I booked a separate appointment for a color consult and a proceeding color session. My stylist, Cas, greeted me and we started the consultation. I compiled some examples and was pretty direct with what I would like to have done- past experiences and anxiety can make me come off as picky, but at least I'm nice about it, and very loyal when I feel heard. My stylist was confident, and knowledgable about caring for varying hair types- mine being stubbornly flat and oily. The stylist ending up having an urgent medical issue, so another stylist (Rebecca, I think!) took over until their client showed up. Just before blow drying, the receptionist/hair assistant took over for the second stylist, and she added some dry cutting and adjustments at the end. You would assume this situation would be stressful and disorganised (like my parking experience 😅) but the stylists at the salon worked together seamlessly. It did NOT taint my first impression of the salon, and I would recommend these artists to everyone. My haircut (and new bangs!) look wonderful- I felt put at ease at the salon, and whoever does your hair, you will feel and look your best. I am looking forward to my color appointment.
Thanks for making me feel...
Read moreMy experience with Salon Fringe was a mixture of good and bad. First of all the location was fine, the décor of the salon is nice, although the salon itself is somewhat small. The receptionist was a sweetheart. I had scheduled an appointment for my daughter, and chose Salon Fringe after reading the reviews. I tried to schedule an appointment with Kevin or Justin, but they were booked solid. The receptionist recommended another stylist, and this is where the "bad" part of the review starts, the stylist, who I now call "Tight Bun with Stick Up Her Ass", was ridiculous and so pretentious. It was somewhat comical. Due to the time allotted by the receptionist, when I scheduled the appointment, Tight Bun wasn't able to do the treatment she recommended to my daughter, which I understood. As we talked about my daughter's options, she stated that "the more we talk about it the less time I have to work on her hair." At that point I was ready to leave. Tight Bun acted emotionally distraught every time I asked her a question, which was a waste of time, considering she had to have Kevin or Justin answer for her. Kevin and Justin were very professional and knowledgeable. After the haircut and style, we returned to the receptionist's counter to pay and Tight Bun looked at available times in the future for the recommended treatment she had suggested. At that point, I was watching Tight Bun squat next to the receptionist, while holding her head in her hands. I think her bun must have hurt. I have no plans on returning to see her or watch her idiot facial expressions one more moment. Someone needs to tell Tight Bun that the world doesn't revolve around her gloomy...
Read moreToday should have been my first appointment at Salon Fringe. Unfortunately the appointment I made was canceled and scheduled at another salon entirely. (I don't know who did it but it wasn't me) A salon I've never heard of or been to. Sounds like a joke right? I thought so too. NOPE! I was informed that I should have received a text that explained everything to me, when I said that I hadn't, the only text I received was a conformation text. I was told that WAS the text. I decided to wait until the end of the business day before making a review incase someone called me to rectify the situation. They did not. One last little thing. The day of my consultation (when I made my apt) they asked for a credit card to keep on file. I was told they would not charge the card until the day of my appointment. I wasn't even home yet when I got the alert from my bank that they charged $250 on my card. I sincerely hope that charge isn't on my card when I call my bank...
