Came in for a can of Heinz Baked Beans and to my dismay was utterly shocked and appalled when they were out of stock. I asked a nice young lady nearby if she could go in back and check. Her response was to roll her eyes and say in the whiniest voice possible "Of course, anything for the dear customer". So she puts her phone away and walks to the back with the urgency of a teenager going to bingo with their grandparents at a nursing home. And then began the wait, it must have been 30 minutes at least before she came back, walking slower then a turtle with 1 leg, and told me "Sorry, we're all out" then walked away the second that last syllable left her mouth. I stood there flabbergasted for 30 seconds and once I was able to mentally collect myself I started stumbling to the door in disgust of what I'd just went through. The real kicker of it all was on my way out I passed a pallet full of Heinz Baked Beans. I took one can, then waited in line at the registers for 40 minutes until I could finally check out. UPON WHICH they told me the credit card system was down, and being a environmentally conscious fellow I didn't carry any cash so I was forced to leave without my beans. Truly a...

Edit: 11/2/24 - literally nothing has changed. Go in to grab a couple things real quick, get to the front and see a 30 cart line with half the self checkouts closed and only 1 normal checkout open. I don’t know why I keep coming back it’s not even cheap or good it’s just annoying. Went back and put everything back where I found it and I’m going to Walmart.

Previous review from like a couple years ago- Genuinely sick of this place. You have the best time shopping, great selection, no big crowds, decent prices but then you go to checkout and there are zero lanes open, only half of the self checkouts open (and of those half 2 are out of order) and 10 people waiting in line with giant full carts. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shopped for like 30 minutes only to get to the checkout and leave my cart where it is and walk away. I’d rather fight crowds and have a quick in and out than deal with an understaffed store that purposefully closes HALF of the self checkouts for the night, right at their busiest time. It’s ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to go to the produce section to get in line to checkout and wait in line longer than I...

This review is specifically for the Meijer online shopping. We had pretty good success with Meijer and shopping through their app for a short time, although the wait after you pull up to get groceries has always been 10+ minutes, which seems long. More recently, we had to stop using their online shopping because our order was either getting cancelled from their end or was HOURS late. There is never any communication when orders are late, and employees give unrealistic timelines when you talk to them. Once, after our order should have been ready an hour previous, they said they needed 30 minutes, so my husband came back and the order wasn't even started yet. I tried yet again yesterday to take advantage of the sales they had and our order was TWO HOURS LATE. No communication until I called. Then even when they said it was ready and they would bring it out, that took 25 minutes. While I was waiting, another person got fed up and pulled away as well. We were compensated with $15 in coupons, but I just want groceries when they say they'll be ready. We won't be back and will choose other stores in town...

I was shopping and saw shoes buy 1 get 1 for $1. I had two pairs of Sketcher shoes. At the self checkout, they did not ring up on sale. The clerk called the service desk. They said it excluded Sketcher shoes. I didn't get the shoes. I went back to the shoe department and snapped a picture of the sign above the Sketcher shoes. They were included in the sale. I preceded to the customer service desk. I showed the gentleman the picture. He asked if they were casual shoes- I thought so they were both sneakers. The shoes still did not ring up on sale. He asked another clerk. She said they were slip-ons and those were not included in the sale. Disappointed, I didn't get the shoes. Where on the sign does it excluded slip-ons? Meijers needs better signs and not place it over products NOT on sale. I am done with Meijers for awhile and will take my business elsewhere.

I wish I could give a 0. Any reasonable person would read this and expect to get 30% off when you buy $30 worth of Meijer dog or cat stuff. The listed items on the add included food, treats, and litter. I bought the $30 worth of litter and treats but they refused to give me the 30% off because litter and treats don't count as supplies. They are listed on the add. She told me I had satisfied the first half but I had to buy additional supplies like a leash or litter box to get the 30% off. This is ridiculous. I spend over $1000 a month here between groceries and gas. Not anymore. I am sick of them. This is not the first time they have screwed me but it is the last. I am now a Hy-Vee shopper. Good by Meijer.
