We recently celebrated a birthday here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was quite busy, the parking lot was pretty full. However, the service & hospitality we were provided by the staff was impeccable. I received a single rose from a family member that day for my birthday. Our server saw this, & he provided me with a sort of origami flower made from a napkin & gave me beautiful words of encouragement for my birthday. I cannot express how much I appreciated this gesture & him taking the time out of his busy day to do this. I will never forget this experience & am quite grateful for this amazing service during a busy time of day. The food was great, there’s always something for everyone. Always fresh food being added & switched out along the buffet lines. I highly recommend checking out the dessert refrigerators & the fried doughnuts that are beloved by our entire family. Server was attentive to refilling our drinks & checkout before we left was a breeze with a lovely warm smile from the cashier. Thank you Imperial Buffet for your great service and wonderful staff!

---Disappointed with the Experience I recently visited “imperial” buffet, i would call it SCAM BUFFET and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. It’s a cheap place with super rude staff. Firstly, the **food quality** was below par. Many of the dishes seemed to have been sitting out for a long time and were lukewarm at best. The sushi section, in particular, tasted stale and was clearly not fresh. Additionally, the variety of food offered was quite limited compared to other buffets I've visited. Secondly, the **cleanliness** of the restaurant was concerning. Several tables were left dirty for extended periods, and the buffet area itself was messy, with spills and food debris not being cleaned up promptly. This made the dining environment unpleasant and unappetizing. Moreover, the **service** was lacking. The staff seemed indifferent and inattentive. When we asked for assistance or requested that certain dishes be replenished, we were met with slow and unenthusiastic responses. It felt like the staff was overwhelmed or understaffed, which significantly impacted the overall experience. Lastly, the **price** did not reflect the quality of the experience. For the amount we paid, I expected a much higher standard of food and service. Unfortunately, the experience did not justify the cost. I hope that management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Buffets can offer great value and variety when done right, but this place fell short in many areas during my visit. I wish i’d not have even consider this place. ---

It is all about 200+ items including numerous appetizers, entrees, noodles, rice, sushis and desserts - all you can eat buffet. The atmosphere is not too bad but the food here is a real deal. More than a hundred of people can seat and dine together as the floor is quite big. If you consider the choice and the taste of food here, the price will appear quite reasonable. We liked their Coconut Shrimp, Broccoli Chicken, Crab Salad etc. And the Mongolian BBQ (like Hibachi) - where we picked our choice of veggies, proteins, noodles and sauces on our own and the chef at the BBQ counter prepared the dish right in front of us. If you are a foodie and like asian food, this is a must go place for you. Pro tip: 1. Weekday lunches are cheaper than the Weekend dinners. 2. To conquer an unlimited buffet like this, you gotta play with the right strategy. Try a tiny little portion of everything, especially those items which are moving faster than the rest. After identifying your favorite items, start attacking them one by one. Lol 😆

I’m an avid foodie around Chicago, the country, and actually around the world—and this buffet has really wowed me. The produce and seafood are fresh—nothing stinky—and everything is well-fried and well-seasoned. The selection is wide, offering classic American food like brisket, barbecue ribs, and fried chicken, as well as Chinese cuisine that’s usually more rare, like frog legs and dim sum. The melon was really sweet and delicious. Given that the disposable income in Normal, Illinois, is around $30,000 and the median family income is about $90,000, assuming a 10% spending power, the price of this location is very reasonable for the food they offer. I would give this buffet a 4 out of 5 stars based on my personal review. It’s worth coming here and spending time multiple times. With the high quality and great selection, I highly recommend this buffet for anyone traveling in the area who wants to satisfy their hunger.

This is the best Chinese Buffet in town, but it comes at a price. Imperial Buffet has so many options for food to choose from. They cover all the bases from Salads, Sushi, Chinese, American, Sweet Treats, Drinks, Seafood, and more. The lunch price is around $13 or so without a special drink. The dinner really gets expensive, hovering really close to $20 per person without any special drinks. Then you get hit with the Bloomington/Normal high restaurant tax at the end. This used to be somewhere I'd go all the time, but the prices have gotten a little too high for me to regularly come back. I don't mind stopping in every once in awhile for lunch, but now I try to avoid the dinner fees. If you are looking for a high quality Chinese buffet, try Imperial Buffet. The only negative thing about this place is the cost. The food is excellent and the restaurant is very clean inside.

Since I have been back in town, I enjoy coming to Imperial Buffet. I'm always greeted & shown to a table very quickly. There are many different food options to choose from. Even with a buffet, the food is still fresh and hot. I recommend if you need a buffet place to go. It's all you can eat as well.
