This about our experience making a large donation to the store. We were cleaning out a relatives home with some old but very expensive furniture, new appliances, vintage items, clothing. We requested a truck pickup. The interactions with the owner's wife Lena before, and during the donation very rude, condescending, and disrespectful. They didn't even introduce themselves to me on arrival. When I am the one that contacted them. I doubt you people are Christians and I really doutbt you are 100% are doing with the donations you say you are. Not a nice person. RECOMMEND NOT DONATING EVER!! DISRESPECTFUL AND DISCRIMINATORY TOWARD PEOPLE OF COLOR!!
They took most of the stuff we offered. She did cherry pick the stuff with only the things they can sell. Which is understandble. Even some items worth several hundred dollars she was going to turn down. We decided not to donate some more valuable pieces because of the disrespect and rudeness. Of which she did make another rude comment about. From the other reviews and our own experience I suggest they work on a more professional and business like demeanor. Don't make fun of the of the donor and the items they have. Be respectful of the decisions of donors to keep items that are on display. Apologize when you've made mistake than make condescending comments for your own mistake. She was rude before ever seeing me, I can't entirely claim it was because we are people of color. But it is definitely a pattern from previous reviews. They also have a pattern of posting negative reviews on their store FB page asking for positive reviews aka FAKE REVIEWS to cover their tracks and likely harass the reviewer. She does not take accountability for her bad behavior, but blame the reviewer, claiming I am going through something, it's someone else, or gaslight. TOTALLY NARICCISTIC .
Your response is not an apology. Your rude disrespectful comments would piss off the Pope. I would have thrown you out of the house if we weren't desperate to get rid of the furniture. Read Yelp reviews. Someone found $5K in a camera, returned the money to the store. The money is legally belongs to the camera buyer. She did not have to return the money. They did not thank her or even ask her name. Here they claim that they gave the money to their aunt. (See Pics). In another review they claim they gave it to Planet Changer. (See Pics) Which is another sketchy charity that is registered to non another than Lena and Don. They probably kept the money for themselves!! Claimed it belonged to relative here and in another review says they donated it their own charity Planet Changer. Just lies. The buyer wrote a Yelp review that you didn't ask her name or Thank her. Multiple reviews about disrespect toward people of color. Multiple reviews about them being a fake charity on Google and Yelp. I don't want to speak with you. I don't appreciate you posting this review on your store page in an attempt to a) ask people for fake reviews b) open me up for harassement. There is a pattern in your reviews of people mad because you didn't treat with them with respect, most from people of Color. FACTS.

My mom found a few bowls she wanted and asked an employee how much they’d cost. Was told “we don’t price things because it’s all so cheap you don’t really need to know before you buy.” Asked for a price anyway, was told $1 per bowl.
As my mom was taking them to the checkout, another employee interrupted and made a big deal about how the bowls were “top of the line” and changed the price to $5 each. When my mom said that was out of her budget and tried to politely move on, the second employee aggressively started trying to sell her a set of China that wasn’t at all what she was looking for, then made rude comments about my mom not knowing what she was looking at when she declined. So strange… all she needed was a few bowls and this second employee was getting upset when my mom didn’t want to buy a full set of antique China (that included zero bowls).

A young woman was trying to purchase an item from the thrift store and the lady who helped her asked if she had a smaller bill, the young woman did not so the worker asked her manager to check the bill and right away his exact words were “ I’m not comfortable with this bill” I need a card? I’m assuming she did not have one, another man stepped in and paid for the items. When checking the bill the only thing the manager did was look up at the light to see if it was real? I would think a business would have available the fake pens? Not sure why without hesitation he assume it was not real? Wouldn’t you check it first? Also as a manager wouldn't you go through training on how to spot a fake bill??? Anyhow there needs to be some retraining of the management staff to avoid future problems. The way this young woman was treated was clearly unacceptable just because she is of color does not mean she is a thief.
