This Trader Joe place is NOT RECOMMENDED for those that want to sell their used furnitures!! The way it work is that you, the owner, place your furnitures there and they charge you fees per day for storage/display of these items. Most oftentimes, buyers will haggle for a lower price. And if you donât agree to sell somewhat quickly, daily fees add up. Therefore, the longer your stuffs sit there, the less money/wiggle room you have as far as lowering your price and if you decided to not sell your items, taking them back, you still owe them for âstorageâ fees/day, multiple by the number of days since you drop them off. You will end up with a lot less $$money$$ than you had hope to get for your items and you probably will even be up-side-down: if the proceed from selling your items are not enough to cover cost of the daily fees charge, you now then have to comes out of pocket to pay for this high fees. Effectively, you ended up paying to get rid of your still in good condition furnitures and you might have broke your back, trucked them there. Daily charge at this place will add up to be WAY more than what most of us could pay to rent a temperature control storage space monthly. Plan ahead, if youâre moving, list what you want to sell on place like Facebook Market Place and most of us have a smartphone these days. They should rename this business to: ROBBING JOE. This is a business model that TAKE YOUR $$$$$ by imposing exorbitant fees for doing very little work. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT, if you want to ended up, in most scenarios, with the price you want of your furnitures. Do not sell your furnitures at ROBBING JOE. Happy selling!
In response to the âownerâ below: the post mentioned about other stores policy and this store NEVER CHARGE sellers fees for storage/display of used furnituresâA COMPLETE LIE. You said as though youâre running your business as a charitable organizationâABSOLUTE TOTAL B - LL S - - T!! I wrote this review from a personal experience that I had dealt with in the past at this store and I am not aware of another Trader Joe in the West Ashley area. And to set the record straight, I will say that I am not surprise to see such response. As other customers have posted their reviews about their business model: deceptive, lying and luring customers/sellers into their ROBBING JOE establishment are what they do best. I am, however, surprised that they are still in business. As I said above , STAY AWAY from ROBBING JOE, youâll be glad you did!!
This âownerâ is persistentâŚ.keep spreading LIES/DECEIVING customers as has been for who knows how long, take a read at the response from this establishment for the low 1 star rating: such a passive aggressive/A-SHOL3 response. Funny that the guy that I dealt with when I brought my furnitures there did not look to be in his 60s/70s. Before trucking your furnitures there, talk to whoever is in charge and write down the name. Also, mention this review and the boasted claim of FREE/NO CHARGE to sell your used furnitures. I would not go...
Read moreI ordered a couch in October. Paid express shipping and delivery. Waited the allotted time for express delivery (about 2 weeks), but no couch. I then called the store, and was told that the factory shut down. So, after waiting 2 weeks nobody could tell me that before hand? I had to wait and then call and complain in order to be updated EVERY TIME. They offered to refund the express shipping and said they ordered from another factory. I waited, still no couch. Called again. They didn't know what was going on. Waited. Called again. This time they told me it was being assembled. Waited. Called again. This time they supposedly received an email from the factory saying that the couch was being shipped. Waited. Waited some more. Called again about 10 days before Christmas. This time Trader Joe's tells me that the factory doesn't even have the parts to assemble the couch. WHAT!?! Basically, long story short: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE LIARS. I ended up calling the factory and found out that Trader Joe's never put the order in, and the factory never shut down. TRADER JOE'S TOOK MY MONEY BUT NOT MY ORDER. After more hassle I was finally given a full refund. Ridiculous. Unprofessional. Incompetent. Indifferent. Seriously, go somewhere else, these...
Read morePathetic service. Con artists disguised as a mom and pop style furniture store. Lazy inconsiderate employees with no aim for customer service. Took 4 weeks longer than promised to receive a piece of furniture. Other item ordered from them was never delivered as promised after weeks of phone calls back and forth. Credit card had already been billed. They said they would send me a check as a refund for it. 3 weeks later it still hasn't arrived. Having to dispute the charge with credit card company now.
These guys don't give 2 sh... about their customers. They're just in the business of ripping people off with a smile to your face and a BS southern gentleman/hospitality front. Don't be fooled or take their 'word' for anything.
PS. All those "great deals" on furniture they have on their showroom; Please google reviews or amazon reviews on those same pieces model numbers before you buy. 99% of them have horrible reviews about them falling apart, seams tearing, etc after only 6 months of use or so. Their sales people will act shocked if you mention it, but the guys who delivered even said how all their furniture is...
