Went into Archer's Edge with my 13 year old son today as he is new to archery and is very excited to learn about it, perhaps get some lessons - Archer's Edge website indicated that lessons are available - We arrived around noon and there were 2 workers behind the counter with about 4 people in the store - We patiently waited our turn at the counter to speak with someone about lessons, and a trigger for my sons compound bow - We waited about 30 minutes...walked up to the counter and inquired with the gentleman about lessons. In which his response was laughter because its so close to hunting season and there is no way we can get lessons. (Hunting season is over 2 months away) - My sweet son asked if he could use the indoor range for practice - and...more laughter. "not without lessons"...which as you know, they don't have time for. I asked if he knew of anyone that does give lessons in which he replied - "there is no one who gives lessons." more snickers, more laughter. ugh
Dear Archer's Edge: When a mother comes into your store with a very eager teen and a bow - think for a second; Maybe this kid does not have a Dad to do this with, and maybe, just maybe you could indulge a poor child in pursuing his dream - give a few tips, etc., maybe just a little encouragement - As an FYI: a further search on google led us to a nice retired gentleman (who I wont name/but a competitor) who will be giving lessons to my son, I also will be buying all his very expensive arrows, trigger and clothing, etc. from him that my kid will need to pursue bow hunting.
If you are going to be in the service industry..learn a little something about...

A lot of times, you go into a specialty shop like this (be it a store for running, biking, fishing, archery, etc) and, if you're a beginner, you are looked down upon. You get this sense that, if you aren't already an expert, you're wasting everyone's time. This is NOT the case at Archer's Edge. Everyone I've come in contact with at the store, from the owner himself to his employees has been polite, extremely helpful, patient with my naive questions, and just all around friendly.
Whether you are looking to get into traditional archery, hunting with a compound bow, or just get a crossbow to extend your hunting season, this is the place to go.
I saw one reviewer say they were "a bit expensive" or something like that. I'm not sure if they meant in relation to massive retailers like Walmart and Amazon or what but I find their prices to be quite reasonable and come with a level of expertise you aren't gonna get from some high school kid working in the sporting goods section of a big box retailer.
Really, the ONLY critique I could come up with for them is that the parking lot turns into a mud pit when it is wet or rainy out so you might want to wear boots. That is so minor it barely is worth mentioning.
They aren't the only game in town for archery, but they should be the only one...
Read moreRecently purchased a Prime Inline 5 from here before moving out of state. Brought the bow to another Prime dealer a couple weeks after purchase and found out the bow was set up incorrectly. Both the rest and nocking point were off, which was causing poor arrow flight. Now paying to get that corrected. Archers Edge also didn't provide the alternate shim set that is supposed to come with new Inlines.
Additionally, had dropped off a Bear Whitetail Legend for a tune up and new peep site at Archers Edge. They found a cracked limb and said they would reach out to Bear to get a replacement limb set. I had to constantly call the shop to get updates on the repair (they only called me once over the 6-8 weeks). I eventually stopped calling after purchasing the Inline. Whenever the Whitetail Legend was fixed, they mailed it to me with the top limb bolt backed out over 6 turns (past manufacturer spec) and the bottom limb bolt only turned out a couple turns (they were both maxed out when I dropped off). I also never received the peep sight I paid for.
The Archer's Edge has a solid selection of bows and a cool range, and maybe they are better at setting up other brands, but I cannot recommend them after...
