I would strongly reconsider going here, especially if you are going to them for wedding dress alterations. I paid $1,500 more for my dress because I wanted to add pearls to the beltline and was told how great this place was from LBR Bridal.
I dropped it off and scheduled to come back a month before the wedding. When I came back, I saw some areas that the pearls were either sparse in or too clustered so I requested them to fix it. They told me that wouldn't be a problem and they would have it fixed for my final appointment where they planned to dedicate the full day with multiple fittings for me to getting my dress altered and fixed. I go into this appointment (which was a few days before I needed the dress) and still did not love how the pearls were placed. I was also instructed that there was only one option for how to bustle my dress despite me requesting other options. The seamstress was very resistant to all of my concerns and ended up storming off with my dress. I told her and then told the owner that I was never measured for my alterations. I was then told by the owner that "they are professionals, and they knew what they were doing. I did not understand the process."
I trusted the process and since I was told that there would be multiple fittings this day, I waited in the parking lot for the next appointment...I waited there 6 hours for them to call. They finally call me in to try on the dress. Well, like I voiced, they never got my measurements. I was told that they needed to take in 3 1/2 inches from the waist. They were closing, and I would need to come back the next day (which I get, but if I had known this would be the case, I wouldn't have waited in the parking lot and also would have scheduled this fitting a days earlier.) The next day there were some issues that were addressed, but I ended up taking the dress knowing that it felt very snug around my waist, and I didn't love the bustle.
When I got home, I sent several people the bustle and was told that they did not do it correctly. I ended up having to get it redone at a different place. I also had the waist taken in so much that I threw up on the wedding day. (I only had half a glass of champagne but felt it bubble up as I was sitting down and since the belt line was taken in too much, it caused me to get sick.)
After leaving their shop, I was planning to write a review but give them 2 or 3 stars since the owner's daughter was nice and the seamstress did get reprimanded for how she treated me. But the stress of finding another place to get the bustle done, and the most upsetting part of throwing up due to the alterations that were carelessly done has me giving...
Read moreI WOULD never recommend anyone go to Gloria Couture. Gloria altered my wedding dress and when I showed up for my final appointment (3 days before my wedding at The Breakers), they hadn't hemmed the bottom of the dress. She made me wait for them to hem it and when I tried it on again, the dress liner was showing. I am not sure why she thought it was acceptable to hem a dress and leave the liner showing but clearly she does not know what she is doing or rushed to finish it. So then I had to wait around for her to fix the liner and when I tried on the dress again, Gloria had gotten HER lipstick on my dress. I did not have any makeup on and have pictures of myself that day to prove it and the lipstick she had gotten on my dress was the exact color of lipstick she was wearing that day. Not only did she get lipstick on the dress, but she hemmed it so that one side was longer than the other. So two days before my wedding, I had to take my dress to a different seamstress where she commented on the uneven length. Lastly, she added jelly to the chest area and did such a poor job, that it created a rippling effect. So that also had to be fixed by the other seamstress. Not only did I have to pay the second seamstress to fix all of Gloria's horrible work, Gloria refused to give me my money back despite all of the distress she caused me the week of my wedding. She is the most unprofessional person I have ever worked with and I cannot believe she ruined my wedding dress the week of my wedding.
In response to Gloria's response (which are all lies) saying that I wore makeup to try on my dress, here are the photos to prove that your seamstress is wearing red lipstick and I am not wearing ANY makeup. You can continue to lie and and try to cover up what a horrible job you did on my wedding dress by pushing the blame on me; however, these photos tell the truth. You cannot produce a photo or video of me wearing makeup to your store because that...
