I am a physician, I requested an appointment with an ENT specialist after I had an accident on Sunday afternoon, with severe damage to my face and mostly to my nose. On Monday morning my office coordinator call the ENT department at University of Miami Health Center new location “SoLe Mia” explained the situation and request an appointment ASAP. They gave me an appointment for Tuesday 8:30 am. The appointment was with a Physician Assistant. As an MD, in a case like this, I think that the first diagnostic visit in the ENT clinic should be done by an specialist. The PA was very professional and after examining me she ordered a CT-Scan of my nose, STAT (emergency). That was done in less than 45 minutes. Excellent service. Since it is an STAT test, the results are usually reported in less than 24 hours. I did not received a call with the results until Friday, 3 days took to receive this STAT information. The CT-Scan showed that I had several broken bones in my nose and a deviated septum. I was told that I will need surgery and I will receive a call later to schedule an specialist for the surgery. I waited the whole Friday and nobody called me. Saturday and Sunday the center is closed. If the STAT test were reported in the proper time, I will probably had the surgery already done. How many days do I need to wait to have the appointment for the surgery for broken bones? When will be decided the type of surgery needed? I am very concerned since, to avoid complications, it is recommended to do the surgery around 10 days after the trauma and one week already pass. I did not expect that from an University of Miami Clinic. I went there looking for the best and I am really...
Read moreThis place is beautiful but I feel far from welcomed. The valet gentleman were very nice! Mostly everyone else I'm not too sure about. I was checked in and waiting for a while to find out their system didn't show me checked in. The day just started and the staff seemed annoyed. Just their persona not necessarily by anyone in particular. I always ask questions just to make sure I understand everything. That seemed annoying to them. I was told to go to the laboratory and if I decide to go to quest the laboratory can make the adjustments and that was a lie. I was informed by the laboratory the dr has to make the change and provide a new script. I am glad to say I stayed and Trudy assisted me and it was a fast and sweet process. She was very warm and welcoming. Before meeting her this was a 1...
Read moreThe only star is for the very friendly and professional staff and the building. When it comes to the APRN that lied to my face, more than once, telling me their license has expired and they cannot prescribe anything (Mr. Suarez will remember me and he will remember how he lied to my face); you are such a shame to America, and to the public healthcare system. It is such a shame that doctors and nurses do this and get away with it. Wasted my entire day and the day before it. If you are serving the public, you cannot lie to them like...
