I used to shop at Aldi almost exclusively except for a few items. And I used to LOVE this store. But sadly I’ve completely cut them out. Several things kept happening that made me decide to say goodbye to Aldi for good!!! #1 The rude staff (specifically the cashiers...every last one of them!!!) #2 The complete disregard for my groceries when packed (more like thrown) in my cart. While items such as eggs and bread are carefully placed in my cart, everything is haphazardly thrown in and sometimes damaged. I’m not paying for damaged groceries!!!! #3 The few times I have shopped with a large reusable tote instead of going through the arduous task of getting a cart was a horrible experience. Sometimes I only need a handful of items and don’t NEED an entire cart. So I brought my bag. The cashiers were rude and made me bag my stuff out of the next persons cart. It was embarrassing and made me feel uncomfortable. The next customer on line was just waiting for me to get my stuff out of “their” cart. #4 This leads me to the next negative....Where are the smaller shopping baskets???!!!! #5 The Deli sliced cheese and produce seems to sour or mold faster than other grocery stores. #6 The selection of fruit and vegetables are limited. I gave Aldi a fair shot for months!!! I spent a lot of money there and loved the prices on everyday essentials. The generic brand didn’t bother me at all. I used to shop at Walmart but hated shopping there. That’s why I switched to Aldi. I’m happy to say that I recently went back to Walmart. I place my order online or on the app the day before and pick it up for FREE. Yes!!!, they shop for you and bring you your groceries outside and even load them in your trunk...all free of charge. The prices are now either the same or even LOWER than Aldi for Walmart Great Value brand. Walmart has come a long way and I think they realized that if they didn’t offer this service, then Aldi was going to take away too much business. I’ve been doing the Walmart grocery pick up for several weeks now and I couldn’t be happier. I’m telling all of my family and friends. They’ve switched too!!! Try it it out. You may be pleasantly...
Read moreUsually has best prices on produce. I have only once been there when advertised meat sales were actually in stock. Staff at the checkout is usually friendly but not today. We got the girl on line #4 today at 3:15 pm. She was very rude. After waiting in a very long line when I got to the counter she was gone. She was running around the front doing something. I kept looking up at the light to see if she had closed the lane in my face and was about to walk out when she showed back up. I had over half of my product on the counter and she kept telling me to empty my cart and put it on the other side. She was in such a hurry the last time she ordered me to bring my cart around I said and leave the rest of my groceries in the cart? She said "oh". I finally said this isn't my first time here, I know what to do. She was ordering me around speaking like a robot and yelled at my friend to put the order seperater on the belt. He was so shocked he said oh, I'm sorry.. I looked for a name tag but there wasn't one. I work in retail. I have to deal with customers of all kinds everyday. The last thing I need is to encounter attitude on my day off trying to get my errands ran! I won't go back. I'll pay 10 cents...
Read moreI was excited to live only 20 minutes away from an Aldi's and had decided that Aldi's would be our new main go-to grocery store. But after almost 2 weeks what I have discovered is that everything I buy from Aldi's that doesn't get eaten that very same day goes bad long before the sell-by date. All of my fruit rotted within a few days or less. I had milk that went rancid a week before the sell by date, I had chicken go rancid a week before it sell by date, I had sausage go bad 2 weeks before it sell by date, I've had pork loin go bad almost 3 weeks before it sell by date, and the bacon I bought went bad a month before it sell by date. That's a lot of wasted money in food. I will never shop there again. If you shop at the Aldi's in North Myrtle Beach, be careful! Honestly I don't even see how it's legal for them to keep their doors open. It's not like this was a rare occasion literally every kind of meat that I've ever bought from there went rotten long before the sell day if I didn't eat it...
