Aldi is the best. Yes, they have only a limited number of goods, but most items are of decent quality. Often, their discounted corporate brand is manufactured by the same companies that make the well-known brand products. Aldi does sell a lot of organic produce that costs 2 times more somewhere else. Their seasonal household items are of good quality. I bought that little blender on the photo below for 25 bucks at Aldis after my $69 Nutribullet broke. It has been doing its job for over a year, and is as good as the Nutribullet, if not better. For 1/3 of the price! The reason why I am writing this review is because I want to say thank you to Aldi and their employees. Here is why: If there is a temporary 8% inflation per annum, prices should go up no more than 10% over a year’s time. Simple math! That was not always the case. Reality was, as soon as the term “inflation” hit the news in Spring 2022, stores like WalMart and Publix immediately rode the inflation wave and relentlessly doubled prices, which also resulted in fairy tale corporate profits for them. This price gouging had absolutely nothing to do with inflation, it was simply driven by greed. These stores clearly wanted to test how much they could squeeze their customers out. During that time, Aldi -being a European company, which doesn’t seem to be tainted by corporate greed to the same degree some US companies are- kept their prices relatively stable. That is worth mentioning. I will...
Read moreI've been going to Aldi Süd for about 17 years, most of it in Germany, where it's originated. This Aldi in Venice is very nice, but the Aldi in general needs to increase it's selection of organic, like in the dairy section and throughout the store. There are some great options, but the frozen salmon, for instance, has "product of China" on its label. Other things to be mindful of are the "contains bioengineered ingredients" items, which is concerning. However, the disclosure in itself is a step in the right direction. On a positive note, the Riesling always has the best price and the Sourdough bread the best ingredients. We only buy the sourdough from either Aldi or Sprouts, all others have way too many unnecessary ingredients. This is a nice little store and often...
Read moreAldi is an affordable grocery store to shop. Most of the items are Aldi brand or off brands. They do carry some name brand items.
What is different about Aldi’s is that you have a chance to try foods that you have never had before. Some items are a hit and some are a miss. I have taken items back that do not taste good and Aldi refunds you money without a question. I always tell people that the food is a different cuisine for a different palate.
If you shop there, you have to bag your own groceries in your own bags. They sell affordable bags there for your groceries.
In addition, you need a quarter to unlock the shopping cart, but when you return it you will get you quarter back.
It’s not for everyone, but it’s certainly...
