My house is from 1966. An old house, one owner. I needed to replace a door, and I was struggling, because the size is hard to find. We looked in several stores and on the internet, and all the ones I saw were the same. None that I "felt in love with" and were within my budget. So Surplus was my last option. So we went. We looked at several that I liked, but I "fell in love" with one. Of course, the right door, wrong measurements. We asked if they had it in stock with my measurements. Kyle helped me, and he helped us wonderfully. He gave me all the designs they have available and he showed us one with the design that I liked. He told us that since it was Saturday, we wouldn't have an answer until Monday if the producer could make the design. Perfect. On Monday he called us with the bad news, that the model I wanted had already been discontinued. So, back to the store we went to look for another option. Before placing the new order, Kyle explained that he was going to try to get someone else to make the door for me before looking at other options. Luckily, the other person said yes. It would just take 3-4 weeks. Perfect, since I'm in no rush for the door. So, the order was placed. I'm super-mega happy. Kyle went the extra mile for us. Edit: I updated my review from a 1 star to a 5 star after someone from upper management reached out to me and reassured me that they would personally ensure that the issue was corrected. I very much appreciated that. It's good to know the higher ups are invested in theirs stores. Seconds & Surplus is a good store and they were the only place that had a part I needed. This place won't let you buy anything unless you give them your name and phone number. I told the guy I didn't want to give him my name and phone number and he said he couldn't do the transaction without it. I had cash and told him to make something up. He said he couldn't do that either. I told him I was paying cash but he said the computer wouldn't allow him to do it with out my name and number. So, I walked out without buying anything.
