I called the Munster, Indiana store to see if the store sold the TURBOTAX DELUXE 'without' the STATE portion. I said it they had it, it would be $39.99. The girl made me hold a couple of times, which is totally fine, but each time she came back on the line, she has bad information. The first time she tried to tell me about TURBOTAX BASIC. I politely informed her that I requested the DELUXE version. She then put me on hold, which is ok since mistakes happen, and came back and announced that they only had the DELUXE version with STATE, which is $59. I said, no not that one, but by the way the one you just described is $49, not $59. Since she was obviously young and might not have any knowledge of TAX products, I asked if I could speak to someone else. She was polite, and said to hold, which I did. I have no problem with anything she did or said, she was very polite. A guy got on the line that identified himself as the GM. I said, "Good, I was hoping to speak with someone that knows what I am asking for." He obviously took it as condescending, because he proceeded to scold me. I was still patient, so I asked him EXACTLY what I had asked her. He came back to the phone and was telling me AGAIN about the BASIC edition. He did not listen to a word I said. I was politely telling him that I was looking for the DELUXE, not the BASIC, and he hung up on me mid sentence...just like that. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT STAPLES AGAIN. That GM was beyond crude. I worked retail for 15 years at the management level, and I would never talk to a customer the way that he did. In fact, I have never witnessed any management person at ANY store, including fast food stores, speak the way that he did and hang...

As a small (very small) business owner, I came in with an important print order for a beloved friend’s obituary. There was a printing/folding issue at the counter that cut off pictures and wording—something that needed to be perfect for a grieving family.
Instead of making a scene, I spoke quietly with Michelle, the assistant manager. She was kind, empathetic, and really listened. She immediately brought out the general manager, Vanessa, who also took time to understand my concerns and reassured me everything would be taken care of.
Then came the hero of the hour—Tina, the “Houdini” of printing. Not only did she correct the formatting, but she personally walked me through the process, gave me a new proof, and ensured that the final product would be of excellent quality. She even shared a $25 promotion and a 10% app discount to help with costs—something I truly appreciated as a regular customer.
These three amazing women—Michelle, Vanessa, and Tina—came together like a dream team. They made me feel like I was in a boardroom with people who had my back, not just a print shop. Their professionalism, empathy, and teamwork turned a stressful moment into a calming, positive experience.
Good customer service is everything—and human interaction like this can’t be replaced. I’m now seriously considering opening a small business account with Staples thanks to them.
Huge thank you to the three amigos who made...
Read moreThe one star was for the four people I like here. If they were not there I’d give it a zero. Plus I worked here a whole 4 hours a week. That’s the kind of hrs you get if you work part time. I have no idea how they have time to clean or straighten things. They always make you wait if you call in for anything. They change the rules constantly on how things are done. I’ve sent my post office labels to their email for two straight years at least 2 to 3 times a week for my packages. The girls are always nice and have them printed out for me then you pay upfront before you leave but now all of a sudden they’re not allowed to print out labels after years and years of printing out labels, I have to make sure I have a card on me so I can do the self printing, which takes forever because you have to wait for that sometimes and then I have my dogs in the car. That’s why I have them print them out which half the time they’re there they’re just sitting there at a chair in front of the computer screen anyway , I don’t understand what’s going on with this place but I really don’t see it lasting with the way it’s run managers have quit employees quit every time they get hired because they can’t get enough hours or it just sucks so good luck with your jobs there, sorry that you’re treated like this . Customer service other than a couple people is really terrible. Also, I worked retail for 25 years and see people getting ignored constantly would drive me crazy. Like I said four people are great. The rest I...
