Just changed to Family Fair Supermarket, and they are putting a lot of money into the remodel, from what Iāve seen. Looks like thereās going to be a Starbucks also.
Edit: I have been there a few times since the remodel was complete, and this place is an entirely different store than it was when it was Econo Foods. I would say that for the most part it is definitely for the better! Every section of the store seems to be updatedcover meeting the standards of a more the more upscale downtown area.
The only downside I see is the pricing seems to reflect the wages of only some of the people in Northfield. There is a Food Co Op down the street that, because it is mostly organic and such, already has fairly high prices. Econo Foods was already higher priced than Cub, now itās even higher. I donāt mind paying the prices, personally because the quality is higher in a lot of areas of the store. But I am not everyone, I donāt have any kids, and it must be a lot easier for me to pay for my food there than other people that will have a harder time getting all the way out to Dundas to get the cheaper prices. It just always feels like, more and more, Northfield is being marketed towards a higher and higher middle class incomes without regard to people with less means/transportation, who also live in town and deserve more local and affordable options. I just wish the store would not have added to that issue like it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI typically love family fare. I think they have great meat and produce but the customer service at the deli in northfield is so bad. It takes forever for someone to ask for your order because they are focused on other tasks even though youāre standing right in front of them. This is night and day difference from the cannon falls deli who approach you immediately and are so friendly. I love the cannon falls deli. Northfield also has the worst self checkouts. They are too smart and frequent have problems. Especially with the annoying scale for bagging. Target has simple, user friendly ones.
The āyoungerā staff (I assume high school students) are always friendly, helpful, and efficient. I always get the best customer service from them and they always seem to be the most hard working. I hope FF in northfield...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe store and what it has to offer is fine. It looks like a nice small town grocery store. I would be willing to pay more for a small town grocery store feel but that has not been my experience. I have tried multiple times but the customer service is so ridiculously bad I wonāt be going back again. They seem more concerned with wearing masks and acting like the arm pit of the woke leftists then they do about doing their job. They donāt even have to do their job for all I care, at least know how to greet a customer. They treat you like you are waisting their time. Every employee looks like they are 5 days over due for a shower. This isnāt the first poor review regarding the poor standards for the employees so clearly the management doesnāt care. Itās sad to see itās been a problem...
