Here's how I would summarize Tin Tea: Innovative, superb, high-quality boba (AND bahn mi) served in a beautifully curated cafe with the absolute best Gen Z/Millennial chic vibes. There's so much I could say about this place, omg. I think I should start by saying that it's one of my favorite boba restaurants ever, and that's saying something, because I promise I have been to at least 50 boba cafes in this country. You need to know that the boba is consistently incredible, with the perfect sweetness and texture. There are also so many options! Something for people who want to be very sophisticated or just simple with their drinks. And last but not least, you will absolutely love the owners! They are a family that cares deeply about the cafe (it was named after the owner's little brother! So precious!), and that same care and intentionality translates to the quality of their products. This place needs more attention! Definitely check it out, and be sure to take your time with your selection, because they have so many great choices!

super cute place and i love the atmosphere! the first few times i have been here the milk teas were not as flavorful as normal, but i’ve been in contact with them and they have made improvements. now i can really taste the true tea flavor. they have several dairy free milks which is perfect for dairy free or vegan people! i got golden milk tea recently and it was delicious with the boba and lychee jelly! i also feel like they use real ingredients and i don’t feel bad after drinking one. definitely recommend!

The interior has a great variety of spots for different people. A cool pink couch with side chairs, side tables, barstools next to a long table with a sidewalk view, and tall circular tables. Cute aesthetic interior pink. I ordered the Thai Tea with tapioca pearls. Initial taste: deep taste. Medium: sweet, creamy. Aftertaste: the spices come through. The pearls were very springy compared to others I’ve had. Not as gooey either (I don’t mind gooey ones though). The cup was probably a third filled with ice.

With their move to the new location, it seems like an appropriate time to update my review. Fortunately, the things that I like about Tin Tea have all stayed the same, but there are even more reasons to like them now.

Their boba is consistently the best that I can find in MN. The texture is phenomenal, while their tea flavors have a lot of variety and customizability (the sweetness scale is really nice, and especially valuable if you only want something lightly sweetened).

Similarly, their Bahn Mi have been a Northfield lunch staple for me for years. Their protein options are fantastic (I particularly like the grilled pork and tofu), and the rest of the sandwich is just as good.

Now, there are even more options. The Vietnamese Ca Phe has quickly cemented itself as a staple for me, and the bao are an incredible addition as well. I can't wait to try the rest of the food that they're coming out with soon.

Finally, the rest of the experience lives up to the food. Staff are incredibly friendly, and the space is better than ever if you want to sit down.

Easily a 10/10...

It is always nice to discover an excellent, local eatery, especially one as charming as the Vietnamese-themed, Tin Tea. I have recently been stopping, every few days, for a large, iced, Strawberry Tea. So good, and so refreshing, it really hits the spot!! Also, the staff at Tin Tea, are all awesome people. They truly make it a welcoming experience. My next plan, this coming Wednesday, is to try one of their Banh Mi sandwiches - and, of course, another large strawberry tea! I can hardly wait!!

Followup: Today, I had a Grilled Chicken Banh Mi, with my tea. Wow!! This might be one of the best tasting sandwiches, I've ever eaten. It was just so flavorful, you could tell it was made with a real love for good food. I will be back to Tin Tea, again and again. I truly love this wonderful place, and the tea, and the food, and, especially, the...
