I have been renting a student violin from this company and they have repeatedly charged me double plus late payments. I have called customer service multiple times to get this figured out. They continually keep telling me that my payment has been denied which is not accurate. I ended up paying double $67 for a $34 payment, called to notify them that they double charged my account they proceeded to tell me that I was not overcharged that I was 2 months behind. I let them know that the payments are direct paid and then somehow their story was changed to my payments were declined. They finally refunded my money. I Just just received another bill saying I owe $97. I Called customer service again and told them it's not my problem if they continuously keep doing this. The payment was made on feb 20th, somehow i owe this $97 payment for march and April. The lady I spoke with was rude and kept trying to argue and speak over me while I was trying to explain what was happening. She then stated that my card has been declined again and that I disputed my payment with the bank and now I owe 4 months because they returned the last payment and now the bank will not release the payments to them. For one I never disputed anything with my bank, I went through their customer service because they overcharged my account and also they only refunded what they overcharged. The lady went on to tell me that they refunded the whole amount that was the overcharge and the regular payment. I have bank statements that prove otherwise. She continued to cop an attitude while I was notifying her that there is no way my payments were declined and also that I was only credited what they overcharged me. Needless to say I'm returning the instrument and I will never do buisnesses with this...
Read moreI have purchased a Pearl bells and drum pad kit from them. Great experience. I have purchased a Simmons digital drum set from them. Great experience. I brought my son in impromptu (when we lived in the neighborhood) for a "fitting" to try different band instruments. Great experience, and we ended up renting a flute from the store. Now, I no longer live in the neighborhood but brought my daughter by today because we were in the area, she is about to begin band, and I was considering renting/purchasing another instrument from them. Thus, I wanted to let her try different band instruments, and though the store had no customers, I was denied and told I had to make an appointment for a "fitting.". I was there when it was convenient for us, and to have to return when we no longer live in the neighborhood is very inconvenient. Maybe the need for an appointment is a post-COVID-19 policy, but I left disappointed that they did not make any attempt to accommodate our request when it was convenient for us and there was no obvious reason why...
Read moreAlright, alright, I should probably change my previous review since I lied to everyone in it: To sum up the old one, I had gone in shortly after they changed from "Colonial Music" to "Music & Arts" (name change only; they were always owned by Music & Arts), and wanted to get my guitar strings changed. (I have an irrational hatred for changing guitar strings). They always did it as Colonial for $10, plus the cost of strings, a standard price at most any guitar shop. Well, found out the price went up to $15 AND there was a multi-day turnaround. Huh? For changing strings?! Forget it.
Well this place is closer to me than anywhere else, and a couple years after swearing them off, I called them to check current pricing. Sure enough, they are back to their $10 + strings price, and do it while you wait, like everywhere else.
Other than that, they're just a standard corporate music shop with overpriced instruments and music lessons. Not really my cup of tea, but glad they are back to fitting my...
