I have had several positive customer service and shopping experiences at Spencerās Novi Twelve Oaks for years. I have been assisted by great team members like Cam and Chantel at this location who have offered the ultimate best customer service experiences possible. They will both drop anything they are doing to assist you. I have never visited any other Spencerās location and had the team members react this way to offer help. The team at Spencerās Novi will work with your needs throughout the store and will not shy away in the back room or shy away from customers to offer help as Iāve unfortunately experienced in the past in other Spencerās stores in the United States.
I have truly experienced Chantel as being the ultimate hero of all retail and customer service in the United States saving the day with finding everything I am looking for and resolving any and all issues that may arise. Chantel is among the most kind hearted, patient, and caring team members you will ever come across shopping in any retail store in the country.
Chantel always ensures in every interaction that the customer feels valued, appreciated, and supported in their shopping and purchase experiences. Chantel will answer any and all questions with her extensive subject matter expertise on all things available in the store, across all fandoms, from Killer Klowns to South Park to adult accessories.
I have never experienced great customer service in any Spencer's location in the United States than I have with Chantel, Cam, and the team at Spencerās Novi Twelve Oaks. I inform all my friends, family members, and co-workers to go to Spencer's Novi for all their needs over any other Spencerās locations in the country.

I went to the 12 store to purchase a new pair of earrings. I asked him (he was standing behind the counter) if he could open the case so I could look at a pair. He proceeded to open the case and immediately told me the price of the earrings (which I didnāt ask for) and stood there looking at me without handing me the earrings. For context, these earrings were literally $13.99. I ignored this strange behavior and I asked if there was a mirror anywhere in the store for me to hold the earrings up to my ear to see if I liked them. He walks me to a mirror (still holding the earrings) & finally hands them to me. As Iām looking in the mirror, I looked out the corner of my eye and he was standing directly behind me with his arms crossed as I looked at the earrings. VERY uncomfortable and extremely strange, especially because there was a store full of customers whom he was ignoring just to focus on me. Oh let me not forget to mention, Iām African American, so itās very apparent what this was all about. I told him Iād like to purchase the earrings, but in the meantime, Iād like to keep looking at more. He proceeds to take the earrings back from me and lock them back up in the case. Not place them on hold like I had requested. Iām not sure who this man is, and I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe this store has issues with theft and this was his way of being some kind of deterrent? Idk, but as a very grown woman who has far more than $13.99 to spend, I can guarantee that I wonāt be spending another dollar at Spencers & this man needs to attend some race and equity training desperately. Instead, we were met with discomfort, suspicion, and inappropriate behavior from both staff and management. While browsing and laughing , we noticed a young employee with pale skin and black glasses watching us closely. Shortly after, an older white manālikely the manager, named Camāapproached and accused us of having 18+ items, even though I hadnāt picked up anything from the store. He then falsely accused me of putting something in my pocket, when in fact, my friend was simply handing me back my debit card. When we offered to show our bags, he declined and said, āWeāll see if the alarm goes offāāas if we were guilty until proven otherwise. The alarm never went off, because we hadnāt taken anything. To make matters worse, the pale employee questioned me inappropriately about whether I had a toy cleaner at home and how old it wasāan extremely invasive and unnecessary comment, especially given our age and the setting. The entire experience was humiliating and uncomfortable. Being followed and monitored by an older man in a store like this felt not only invasive, but also potentially discriminatory. Especially after reading other reviews describing similar experiences. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. The store needs new management and better training to ensure all customers are treated with respect, regardless of their background...
