Sweeting — Restaurant in Novi

I had a very unfortunate experience at SweetING today. I went to the kiosk and ordered my daughter a boba tea. That went well. A minute or two later I ordered my toddler son a smoothie and after some minutes, I noticed they weren't working on it (no other customers behind in line). I asked the lady at the counter if she had received my second transaction and she said no and asked if I had a receipt. I said I chose the option of no receipt since I was in a rush and was taking it to go, but I was able to show her the transaction registered on my bank account (both transactions were there) with the name of their company. She insisted she didn't receive it but I provided her evidence. Then she called whom I assumed was her supervisor who told her there was no transaction. Again, I referred them to the evidence containing both transactions and even going out of my way to show her there was enough funds for it. I was not offered a refund nor was I offered the smoothie that I paid for. She said all she would do was cancel it if it popped up in their system eventually. I left very upset because of the terrible customer service with a sad toddler asking me for his smoothie that we paid for on a very hot day. Never again. Would not recommend. Poorly handled. Yummy boba at this small shop inside Twelve Oaks Mall!

We made an emergency trip to the mall to get my husband a dress shirt for a wedding we were supposed to attend. Our shopping went quickly and we had some time to kill and a quick google search revealed that there was a well-reviewed boba shop inside!

Now, even with Google Maps and the help of the map inside the mall, we had some trouble finding Sweeting. It's not in the main / largest food court. However, once we finally found it, we were golden!

They have a very small dining area (maybe 2-3 tables) and you can order at one of two kiosks or at the counter. We placed an order at the kiosk and found it very easy to maneuver. They have a small but tasty sounding food menu too, but we kept it to drinks having just eaten lunch. Our orders came out reasonably fast.

We got a peach black tea with lychee and the tiramisu milk tea with coffee jelly. Both were yummy! The jelly textures were really great. I preferred the tiramisu -- it was sweet and a great dessert. The peach was good too, but something about the peach flavor was just a tad too artificial for me. We still enjoyed it, just the tiramisu was our preference!

I've been going to Sweetings since they opened and I love them. A hundred and ten times better than the Totally Tea place in the mall. Much better quality, service, price! And they even have food options. Which is like the cherry on the cake. The food is always super good and hot out the door. Their frosteas are amazing! And not to mention the staff are always such sweet hearts. They do everything in such an orderly and timely frame. They also are now doing Rolled Ice cream which is super exciting! Super good place to get a meal and drink all in one on a lunch in around 10 minutes ! Not to mention their little seating area is so cute and cozy. Very nice place...
